Heartworn Highway

You've never seen pain, misery, beauty or despair until you've seen this. Townes Van Zandt performing the stunning Waiting around to die in his trailorpark in Austin, Texas. Listening are his neighbors, and Uncle Seymour reacts the way he does 'cause he know every fucking word Townes is singing is true.

It's official

I'm supporting Pp7 Gaftzeb on bass at Debaser Slussen January 21st, not Klubben as previously stated. Other bands include Starlet Suicide, Zan Clan & Crucified Barbara.

But never mind them. We'll kick their asses. The gig is in memory of Dave Lepard, former singer of Crashdiet, who died in January. Tickets will be available at Ticnet from Monday.

Bassplaying and black metal

So... Today I had bandrehearsal. I'm supporting the infamous and notorious Pp7 Gaftzeb on bass - and hopefully helping him spread his philantropic and intellectual punk-disease at Klubben in January (the 26th if I remember correctly).

Then I went to said venue to check out Satyricon. If you're unfamiliar with this band I can tell you they're like the black metal-version of the brothers in Prison Break. I'm writing the review right now and it will be feautured in Thursday's edition of SvD.

Recordcollectors are pretentious assholes

What I'm listening to at the moment:

Trouble: "Psalm 9" & "The Skull". These classics just got re-released through Escapi Music with additional DVD's. What can I say? If you don't have these albums in your humble possession already you're probably not worthy of them anyway so please forget everything I just wrote.

Converge: "No Heroes". Maybe not as breathtaking as You Fail Me, but still so far beyond every piece of shit-hardcore/emobullshit/"dynamic yet agressive"-album from the great country in the West that it will make your head spin.

Eagles of Death Metal: "Death by sexy". Yes, it is still the best album this year when it comes to dancing in front of the mirror.

Autopsy. Everything. All the time. Forever.

Iron Maiden and interviews with hungover rockstars

The Maiden-show last night got 4/5 in Aftonbladet and Expressen. What I gave it? Well, you just have to check it out for yourselves:

http://www.svd.se/dynamiskt/rec_konsert/did_14092237.asp

Today I interviewed Corey and Matt from Trivium.

"Are you the stripper?" Was the first sentence I was greeted with.

They're my age and on tour with Iron Maiden. The singer hasn't even ever had a real job. It makes you feel anxious about your own age, if something. Anyways, they were pretty friendly and I got a good interview. It got filmed for some sort of DVD that will come out later as well. It was way more fun talking to them last night though, when they've had a few beers.

Security at the Globe, concerning Maiden is pretty fucking ridicilous. My friend Jesper at Roadrunner had an AAA + A-pass and wasn't even allowed to bring me inside the building. I'm surprised they didn't make me give an DNA-sample. All that hassle for a bunch of brittish old men...

I might go and check it out tonight as well, or I'll just get drunk instead.

Cheers.

The Slayer-show last night was pretty boring. I'm getting old. Check out the review (in swedish) at

Tonight: Iron Maiden. Yeah, yeah - they WILL play Fear of the dark.
