Califonication and turbulance~! Watch out here I come.
So check this out.
Last night I'm working on some music. Yes-new music. But more on that later. Anyway, I'm working away late at night and I hear, 'Slade, you can do it!'. OK. I know I have been staring at a computer for a long time but normally just my eyes go. 'Slade you have to land the plane!' Now I'm real confused and assume I need some coffee. But when I walk out into the living room I see that I had left the TV on and Turbulence 3:Heavy Metal is on. For those not familiar (I'm sure that's all of you..) Turbulence 3 is about a Heavy Metal rock star who decides to perform his last concert on a 747 Airplane to be broadcast on the internet. But, the plan is hijacked by a Satanic cult and the star of the movie-the lead singer is...Slade Craven! So that's what that was all about.
Speaking of Airplanes. I'm going to be getting on one soon to play 2 shows. Nov. 16th at the Wilturn Theater and Nov. 18th in Tempe AZ at the Marquee Theater. I have been lucky enough to be asked to play guitar for the band Imperative Reaction! Now-I am only guesting with these guys for these 2 shows. Not a member of the band! Check 'em out. They rule! Plus we are playing with Tiger Army and Street Dogs, two awesome bands. So, I hope to see some of my California Fiends!
I've also begun working on my solo stuff. It's different. I mean, that's something I take pride in. TLV was nothing like the Murderdolls, Amen was nothing like Dope, so am taking the challenge of reinvention one more time. I've begun working with producer Shaun 'Stakka' Morris. Together we are coming up with some bent shit! ha,ha..Think Primal Scream Exterminator era meets Early Cult, Placebo and maybe The Sisters of Mercy Vision Thing era, maybe a little J-Rock thrown in? Dark/Beautiful, Electronica/Guitars. Who knows. I still have no idea what this will sound like. But I know this: When I leave the studio I put on my headphones to listen to the raw tracks we have worked on that day. And though not complete, I know I am finally making music that speaks from my soul. Weather it is good or bad does not matter. It's RIGHT!
Ok.
