"I'm every cliché, but I simply do it best."

Hi, my name is Alex. I have a
My life is dot complicated. I live for drama, gossip and my lifes ambition is to be 'Spotted' in Heat magazine. I feel I owe my entire upbringing to Saved By The Bell. I wear tighter jeans than most of the girls I date.
This post right here, in front of your eyes, is the first in a series of 17 million weekly updates on what is getting me all giddy in the world of music (maybe even a couple of those other media outlets, if i'm feeling frivolous).
So yeah, that's me. That's you. That's us! Let's be BFFs.

Tunes to make you swoon...
I like a pretty broad range of music; I'm every bit as likely to be spinning the new Fall Out Boy record, as I am some Necrophagist. But, the first single I ever bought was *NSync- I Want You Back and well, once a pop kid, always a pop kid. And so, like something out of Captain Planet, I bring together my super powered love for a bizzarely eclectic mix of genres, resulting in a rainbow coloured sexplosion of emerging bands to cater to everyones most lustful desires. So what swept me off my feet with aural sweet nothings this week? Scroll people, scroll!!
A simple click of the bands names will take you to a place to hear the wonderful tune spoken of.

Steed Lord
Who You Wit
Demo
Unsigned.
Electro. Crunk. Disco. Rave. From Iceland.
Yeah.
Looking like a fashionista on LSD's wet dream, sounding like NWA playing on an Atari, with Maja from The Sounds desperate for her turn, Steed Lord are basically pleasing to every sense. (I'm assuming they smell, feel and indeed taste as fabulous as they look and sound). Having just played hip NYC promoter Roxy Oxycottontails' birthday bash, and due for an appearance at the UK's Global Gathering next month, the band are poised to become the new darlings of that glowstick wielding genre/trend everyones talking about, I forget its name.
"Who You Wit" is part electro-grime, part gangsta-rap; the bass is low, the energy's high and it is the perfect introduction to Steed Lord's wonderful style.

Holiday Parade
My Philosophy
This Is My Year EP (Out Now)
Unsigned
Remember LFO? Sure you do. "I like girls that wear Abercrombie & Fitch/ I'd take her if I had one wish". Well, if you subtract the cringe-inducing lyrics and the late-90s boyband haircuts, you're left with a damn fine summer tune. If you add in pop-punk meets Ben Folds-esque piano driven pop, your close to Holiday Parade's brand of warm, upbeat summertime music.
"My Philosophy" is the standout track off their EP, with a chorus that just oozes sunshine and fun times. Unfortunately there's no lyrical gems such as "New Kids On The Block had a bunch of hits, chinese food makes me sick", but that summertime feel good vibe is going nowhere.
Purely for the giggles...

Remix! At The Disco
Waiting For Toxic Snacks
Remix! At The Disco
Unsigned
Ah the world of illegal internet 'mash-ups'. 99% of them are terrible, but every so often you find a gem. This little number is a mash-up of Panic! At the Disco- Nails For Breakfast, Tacks For Snacks, Gwen Stefani- What Are You Waiting For? and Britney Spears- Toxic. Reads like a three car pile-up, sounds ménage à trois-tastic. I'll see you on the e-dancefloor.
Tune of the week...

Paramore
Misery Business
Riot! (out June 12th)
Fueled By Ramen
With album number two dropping next month, singer Hayley Williams being not only marketings dream but more importantly stupidly talented, and a lead-off single as amazing as "Misery Business", Paramore are sitting pretty. A 'girl power' anthem that even the boys can sing, the mature lyrical content marks the strides forward the band have made since their debut; an album steeped in youthful naiivity and wonder. The band's jagged edge pop has been honed to perfection, and Riot! looks set to make the kids in Paramore posterboys&girls for a whole lot of people. listen to "Misery Business" by clicking here or you can watch a stunning acoustic version right here!
