Ok.....not too long after I joined this site, I started a group "Hip Hop And The World We Live In". The reason why is because this year, 2007, marks a significant a year of alot of changes going on with hip hop music. Its finally being attacked for the lack of balance in what commercial hip hop has put out there for us to digest. I feel like people were and always have been too late on getting to the point of this issue. Heads have been saying this since the 1990s. Bot now, we've got Oprah saying something and as well other civil rights leaders stepping up to the plate to take a swing at hip hop music. Not only that....the fans, the artists, the critics, the internet-shit-talkers, and everyeone else involved wants to take a stab at this "Hip Hop Is Dead" trap that the media has forced us to believe since Nas put that album out there (which is good by the way).
My thing is that hip hop is like anything else. You don't love it then leave it alone. If you don't how shit is going down within hip hop, contribute something and try and change it. Don't act like a bitch and constantly downgrade it like its something you don't care about; when in hindsight, you still keep up with it. Well, with that said......please join this group. You can click on my page and see a banner in blue and white that reas "beats.rhymes.life" on it. Thank you for your time and attention. Peace.
