Respect to all Junglists....... Started playing guitar and piano when I was six, started playing Metallica stuff when I was 8, then moved onto Sepultura, Slayer, Megadeth etc when I was 11. I then discovered Old Skool Jungle in 1991 when I was 13, and got into dark nasty dnb a few years after that, probably about '94.________________ When I was 14 (1992) I started playing Morbid Angel, Napalm Death, Cannibal Corpse, Carcass etc on guitar. Always had a taste for sick nasty music then got into rap and hiphop. Started trying to produce dnb in '96 although I got into it seriously in about '98. _______________ Spent the next six years gathering samples and making beats and sounds.. Bought quite a few synths and fx units, already had lots of equipment from my guitar days. I still play guitars (I can play anything I listen to) and synths tho, Still listen to sick metal (from one extreme to the other - Death Metal and Grindcore to dark dnb) _____________ Got to grade 7 piano, grade 7 sax, grade 5 classical guitar, grade 4 jazz guitar; although I will make clear that having high grades in certain instruments only makes your technique excellent, it is only through experience and many years of hardcore practice that you get good ;)__________ EZ

When I started using ableton live new doors opened for more originality in my writing; now I can utilize any media for producing, especially my own voice. I just render ableton files to my harddrive and then import them into my sequencing program.
I got a DNB question for you..... say you are working on a track thats 140 BPM, or whatever speed you prefer....... do you ever make a pattern (like a breakbeat drum loop) thats exactly twice the BPM of the main track and layer it in with the slower patterns? Does that make any sense?
