Who the f*ck am I???
Hi, my name's Kaylee, I live and work in downtown Vancouver, Canada.
I keep myself busy by living 2 lives, rocking a sweater vest during daylight hours as a marketing prodigy for an investment firm............. then rushing home to jump on my decks, or work on producing some tracks of my own- as a hopeful DJ/PRODUCER.
After surviving a tough couple years caught up in a string of unhealthy habits and false friends, I feel like I can do anything.
It was only a little over a year ago that I went and bought my turntables, initially I just wanted to learn how to beat-match and make it a hobby. Every month I would get a little better, a little more confident, and played my first gig within 7 months, and then I played my 2nd gig.............and then I got a little more serious about it and wanted more........
I wanted to MAKE the tracks I play!
I found myself analyzing every song, and thinking "this would sound good if it had a little more bass- or if it was faster- and the chorus was looped and echoed......"
so then I got Ableton Live, which is still quite new to me, but has managed to take up any little bit of free time I have to try to master it so I can turn the thoughts in my head in to sounds.
So Im just doing my thing, doing what makes me happy, whether or not it goes to the next level , il still be happy- so I guess Il just have to wait and see what happens.
