Wow....a "blog"....never done one of these, but I suppose its inevitable that we'll all do one at some point.
It's almost 24 hours after the Sonic Syndicate/Nightwish concert, and I'm still buzzing! Admittedly, I was there for Nightwish. I heard about them from a co-worker in the army a few years back, and I've loved their music ever since. When I found out they were coming to Canada (and even better, WINNIPEG!), I got my greedy paws on tickets as quickly as I could.
So I arrived with my sister (turned her onto Nightwish as well) about half an hour before doors opened. Once inside the door, I got to see the Sonic Syndicate booth with CD's and t-shirts. At the time, I contemplated buying a CD (the girl working there would remember me) but opted to listen to the band before I bought a disc. In hindsight, that was an incredibly dumb move. I immediately got turned onto the band, and enjoyed every minute of their set. I just wish they were coming back to Winnipeg, I'd love to see them again.
Of course, like most at the concert, I decided during the intermission that I should pick up a disc. Surprise surprise, they're all gone. Again, the girl manning the booth would remember me as I was the one bitching about having to go all the way to my computer to order their albums (joking, of course).
I guess to close off my very first blog, I should say this to the people of Regina, Edmonton, Calgary, Victoria and Vancouver: Enjoy the concert, you're in for a hell of a ride!
Cheers,
Josh
