In my opinion, education and growth is the most sincere way to flatter my subject. As I sit here today, I'm looking through old pictures and memories of the past four to five years. My, oh my, I have grown. I look at the pictures I took when I first started out with Alive-n-Kickin' and I wonder now how I could ever claim them. I started out 4ish years ago, with them, using a tiny Kodak Easy Share that fit in my pocket. I used a case that mimicked a cigarette case and my smokes would fit in the case with it to boot. Now I use a backpack size case to carry my gear. As some know, I have now graduated, yet again, to a Nikon D300 and have two snazzy lenses to accompany it.

"Sometimes you have to look in the rear view mirror to see where you're going." I had a pastor say this during a sermon a few years ago and I can truly take it to heart in two aspects in my life today. I can see that statement as true when it comes to my daughter and with my photography work. In short, you have to look back at where you've been to see ahead to where you're going. Back then I would only point and shoot without regard to what I was actually doing. I didn't understand composition, exposure, as well as, many other things. Since then I have made great strides to educate myself in all aspects of photography. The road to where I am now has been one hell of an awesome ride. I have met and learned from some of the most amazing folks. I hope I never get to the end of this road because I want to constantly grow. As I sit here today, reviewing pictures from a few years past, I hope that in another few years I can look back at the pictures of today and not want to claim them because I've grown, yet again! Thank you to all who have lent your pearls of knowledge to me over the past few years. In addition, thank you to all the wonderful subjects who have been in front of my lens, animate and inanimate.
