I moved last month from Charlotte NC to Atlanta GA. Things have been going quite well. Mainly my artistic efforts have been focused on "making house". It finally is feeling like home. I work in an art supply store which is awesome and aweful. I meet lots of 'creative' folks, but most of them have their heads up their ass and only care about technique and archival quality and wah wah wah. I told a lady the other day when she griped about the cost of her stuff, that you do it because you have to create to survive, not cause you want to. I do anyway. I think she was a bit surprised at my wisdom, if you will. So many people create for money, or to curb boredom, or to mimic reality. Fuck all that. I do it for me, I do it for the thrill of taking junk and making beauty. And spring is nearing, the daffodils have come to let us know just hold on a wee bit longer and the warmth will be here to stay. Love it.
