PMA-Core
The danger facing any musician is that as years go by, you move from 'innovative' and 'daring' to 'doing what you're good at'.
When forming the band, Dead Unity vowed to avoid that pitfall. Their mission: do everything band-related differently from how it was done in the past. Their objective: use positivity to create energetic, passionate music without letting all the other stuff distract them.
Now, 18 months later, they managed to pull it off. The hardcore punk roots are still in there (how can they not be), but overall there is more melody and room to breathe in the music than ever before. The first taste of this is the Militantly Positive [demo], released online in August 2007.
This demo contains three Dead Unity originals, recorded by the band themselves in their rehearsal studio. In the first two songs, Change and Always Bring Flowers To A Fight, the band rocks melodically, delivering catchy choruses that simply beg listeners to sing along. The last song, Stay Close Together Kids!, illustrates the band's versatility, taking you from mosh to fast hardcore in 45 seconds and ending on danceable hardcore punk.
