We were coming out of the train station when we saw two boys kissing on a bench,
and the Mothership uttered the above.

Apparently she doesn't have a problem with homosexuality per se, she just doesn't think she should see 'that sort of thing' in public.
I asked her why, and she went off on yet another rant about how her views are her views and I can't change them - and I guess to an extent she's right; but is it possible that sometimes its necessary to force people to acknowledge other views?

I am 100% tolerant to all sexualities.
God forbid the Mothership ever finds my photo collection of emo boys kissing (this is the type of thing you collect when you are as sad and lonely as me).
The only things i'm not tolerant to are recreational drug users, elitist 'send them back to their own country' Britain lovers, and people with hang-overs

So, upon hearing the Mothership's comments and her ignorant refusal to accept that its possible for people of the same sex to be in love, I wanted to cry.
It almost makes me feel embarassed to be related to such a bigoted, pig-headed person, just in case anyone thinks i'm the same.
I mean, its been almost forty years since homosexuality was declassified as a mental illness - it seems more taboo to me in this day and age to find being gay unacceptable than it does to be gay

It feels horrible to think your parent is a moron AND have proof.

On a lighter note, we took the bus home from town today, and the driver started going the wrong way. He was alerted to this fact, and then unanimously mocked by the passengers.

Oh and, out of boredom, I spent £27 on books today;
Lovecraft, Sartre, Orwell and Stevenson.

Its going to be a good week.
