This four piece band from Lincolnshire can definitely back up the polished electro indie rock sounds of 11 track “Hide & Seek EP” in their live performance. 

By the time the Jubilees come on at around 11.30pm, 5^th in the line up of six bands, an achievement in itself as the line up is decided on the amount of people each band brought with them, showing a dedicated following of fans willing to travel even to the freezing climes of Liverpool to see them perform, the room is packed out. 

Opening with the upbeat track “Insomniac” they certainly wake the crowd up after the more laid back performances of the previous bands.  Energetically rocking the now dancing fans through “Secret”, with Gaz Sutton’s catchy baseline in the middle, and “Frustration” without the usual breaks, allows them to cram more tracks into the 30 minute set.  Next up, the crowd pleaser “One In A Million” with its tidy guitar solo, has even the obvious first time listeners singing along to Dan Hare’s vocals on the chorus.

Chris Tuck provides some inspired drumming on “Hide And Seek”, which is also a showcase for the excellent keyboard skills of Mark Ward and his continuously solid backing vocals.

They chose to close out on the slightly slower paced “Falling Apart”, but that hasn’t slowed the crowd’s enthusiasm as they yell for more when the band finishes.

On asking the guys how they were getting on with the new amps they won and they tell me “They’re brilliant.  The band is happily adjusting to the new kit.”
