It took a lot more time making than most of my songs because I had to make and mess up so many different beats to get it as close to right as it is. The good news about that is that I exported a few MIDI's that I really liked, such as one that sounded like arabic music in techno form, sounded REALLY cool and I kept it. But I doubt I'll use it for my next song, which no matter what is going to be danceable and synthy. I SWEAR IT!
Anyways, the song had about 5-6 different beats, but after a while listening to all the beats at once bothered me so I started to fade them in and out. It sounds okay, my favorite part of the whole thing anyways was the loud clap like beats. I was originally pissed off that I couldn't get a real clap noise, but it turned out well that way.
By the by, this song marks my 'experimental' period, I am going to try more genres and try to find my niche, what I excel at, what I'm ok at, and what I really shouldn't do ever again. Trance is always open for me, when I get slower beats down without making the beat sound weird it'll be a permenent genre. With this song I've pushed Breakbeat to the side, as the fast beats don't seem to suit me too well. So I'm going to try Progressive House (or as close as I can get to the description.) next, wish me luck!
