DESIRE PASSION SEX
PAINTINGS 2008
The work I will be doing this year is about the energy and dynamics of desire, passion and sex.
I will be using a limited pallet of acrylic colors. Some of the paintings will be done using just white, black and grey, and some will be done using flesh tones. The majority of the works will be done in the semi-abstract style.
Anatomical correctness and realism are not sought, the sole aim is to capture the drama of the event. No life drawings or painting will be done using models – all the works will be created from the mind. A distorted perspective will be used to strengthen the dynamics of the event.
No pencil work will be done on the canvas. The image will be “drawn” in paint. Starting with large brushwork, gradually reducing the brush sizes to capture detail. Each brushstroke will be a guide to the next color placement. None of the marks and colors will be predetermined: The accidental and intuition will be the guiding forces as to what direction the paintings will go in.
All the works are only parts of the creative experiment: The search for new ways of expression, through the marks, design concepts and colors used.

i really like the style of that painting! i like how geometric it is. some parts of it kinda remind me of what happens when you try and enlarge a picture and all the pixels become squares. yeah... i know what i'm talkin about even if no one else does.
