ENTROPIA

The group was born in 2005 between September and October with students from different universities such as the Javeriana and Bosque. The band had 4 members at the time: Hugo Pinzón (guitar), Nicolás Aparicio (guitar), Juan Carlos Sánchez (bass) and Leonel Rojas (drums). Hugo had to renounce leaving Nicolás as the lead guitarrist. In the late 2005 Juan Carlos suggested to include a keyboard in the lineup, so keyboardist Jorge Arango entered the band. Finally, at the beginning of 2006, Juan Manuel Güiza was included as the lead vocalist, thus completing Entropia.

The Initial objective was to create a tribute band to metal around the world, specially those groups that influence our music. Instead, they decided to create a completely new band with original songs. This way, a long composition process is unleashed, where each member lets his own musicality abroad to let Entropia's music be born. In the mid 2006, the band decides to record an EP, “... of human introspection” which includes four tracks for a total of 40 minutes. In December of 2007, Entropia started to record its first full length album. "Simetria" is a 9 track concept cd, and it's expected to be released on march-april of 2008.

In January 2008, Entropia was chosen with another 7 bands throughout the whole colombian terrytory, to record an Iron Maiden tribute CD called "The Golden Beast - A tribute from Colombia to Iron Maiden" from EMI records. They chose to record track 2, "Infinite Dreams". Entropia Also won second place (by half a point) to be the opening act for Iron Maiden in Colombia.

Entropia wants to show that feeling and musicality can be in harmony with virtuosity. Its songs are a truly honest musical expression of each one of its members.
