AC/DC - Back in Black - The first time I knew rock could be badass
Tool - Lateralus - My first Tool record.  How could I ever have mistaken them for mainstream?
Metallica - Master of Puppets - This stuff way beats AC/DC for badassedness.
Black Sabbath - Symptom of the Universe - They made me see that being spiritual can be seriously cool at a time when I was discovering The Bible.  This combo was hard hitting for me.
The Beastie Boys - Ill Communication - The shizzle
Rage Against the Machine - Evil Empire - Raw and animalistic can be good too?  Cool!
Dream Theater - Scenes from a Memory - Wow.  Just, wow.
Pink Floyd - Pluse - The whole thing just blew me away

3. Billy Talent- Billy Talent (I was listening to country music before my friend introduced me to this cd, and Warped Tour in '05)
4. Take This To Your Grave- Fall Out Boy (saw them at Warped Tour in '05, became obsessed, became annoyed, not a fan anymore)
5. Tell All Your Friends- Taking Back Sunday (got better introduced to a genre with this cd, quality lyrics)
6. Bayside- Bayside (I was going through a rough time and I could relate to this cd)
7. The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me- Brand New (saw them in May, worst performance ever, incredible)
8. The Dirt of an Electric Boy- Christopher Gutierrez (spoken word, motivational)
9. The Party Scene- All Time Low (fun, catchy punk-rock crap that makes me nostalgic)

Thats pretty much all the bands i got into at the start of my musical obsession...

I got into hardcore and punk back in 1993, and that's when i really started to really listen to music (having found something worth listening to). That's why i deeply love these Swedish records (you've probably heard a few of the bands, i suggest you check out the rest of them).

Back then there was no Internet, only mailorder catalogs and local distros (and touring bands), so of course the Swedish band's records was the ones we first bought.
