I'd like this forum to be a place where folks can discuss the idea that visionary art might be able to propel the collective consciousness of humankind to new levels.  I also would love this to be a place where people express their understanding of the Great Awakening of 2012 that is evidently unfolding at this very moment.  For those who haven't heard of this idea it's covered thoroughly in a miraculous book entitled The Last Ghost Dance - By Brooke Medicine Eagle    The idea is that humanity is currently caught in the Ninth Gate of Hell (Mayan Myth).   Supposedly we are all going to witness some form of spiritual awakening and this will take place on a global scale.   The basic idea is that  in 2012  all humans on earth and even animals will experience a sort of vibratory transformation wherein we'll all gain a heightened state of awareness.  At this point humanity will operate at a much more sustainable and compassionate level as a whole.  Wisdom instead of ignorance will be the dominating force.  In other words we'll finally wake up as a collective group.  It's a very romantic idea.  I'd like to hear what others know of this interesting Mayan Prophecy.  I personally feel that this existence wouldn't be what it is with both the negative and the positive dynamic at work.  The great magnet is what makes this world what it is.  Art and love would not exist in the way it does without this polarity.   However, I do feel humans in general could evolve out of this 15 year old mentality that we're caught in.  Especially in the American mainstream media we are witnessing a very unevolved state of mind being perpetuated by the dinosaur corporations.  But we are starting to see signs of hope when companies like Ford & Chevrolet are seeing Hybrid cars and other sustainable technologies as marketable and necessary.  Perhaps this is a sign that the Great Awakening of 2012 will actually occur on some level.  Maybe water will be the byproduct of future automobiles.  Maybe powerful corporations will decide that money and power are useless if we don't have clean water, air and sustainable living first.   What do you think?
