This is Jimmy Lloyd
Jimmy Lloyd was born out past the barren valleys and the clichéd dusty roads of West Texas. In a subdivision, inherently full of anguish and sorrow with its rickety buildings and broken people, Jimmy watched the relationships and altercations around him and knew he had to get out. Never a fan of long goodbyes or teary-eyed send-offs, Jimmy Lloyd disappeared one night and never looked back.
From the scorched plains of west Texas to the cafes of Europe and the bricked up wastelands of the Northeast, Jimmy restlessly paced the earth, unrelenting in his search for something un-namable, never staying long enough to find it. Eventually settling in New York City – he was unable to shake the feeling within him that that which was wrong was still wrong, and lurking just beneath the surface was a world of stories that needed to be told.
Jimmy writes songs that seem to explore the subliminal violence of the suburbs and relationships and the traumas behind the apparent peace. His songs possess not only an intensely melodic touch which makes every song a potential dark anthem, but also wit, wisdom and wicked humor that makes every lyric an original and gleefully dysfunctional film waiting to be made. In his own way, he addresses serious social issues that we all know exist but are mostly to afraid to confront.
Jimmy Lloyd is the timeless lone hero with his guitar, equal parts corduroy and chrome, saying the things that need to be said and ahead of the curve. He is a voice for our troubled times and crumbling society. Between his Texas drawl, up-yours New York attitude and affinity for a Merseyside backbeat; Jimmy Lloyd serves up acoustic-based rock ‘n roll that swaggers like the Stones, preaches like the Boss and gets itself into trouble like Kid Rock. Jimmy Lloyd gives voice to everything you’ve ever been too polite to say or too scared to admit you feel. Poetic, brutally honest, explosive, and bursting with sound, Jimmy Lloyd is the badass you wish you were.
