Bloody Movie List

When I am feeling a little bloody I watch these movies. Listed in no particular order, mostly because I am too impatient to really weigh the pros and cons of each movie. Their bloody, and their cool, and their killer ... look em up when you want to fantasize about cutting up your arch nemesis into little pieces.

* American Psycho
* Silence Of The Lambs
* Candyman
* Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes
* House Of 1000 Corpses
* Evil Dead
* Hellraiser
* Children Of The Corn
* Salem's Lot
* The Serpent and The Rainbow
* Lord Of Illusions
* Phantasm
* Sometimes They Come Back
* The Whicker Man
* Witchboard
* Tales of Terror From Tokyo
* Army Of Darkness

Awww crap this could go on forever ... There are some other old school movies that I like that I can't remember the names too. If you don't like it you can eat my heart ...

How To Survive If Buried Alive

Here are some tips for all you people who have a tendency to get buried alive.
I did not write this yo! I am not that cool . But I have considered the situation...
And I once almost suffocated in a drainage ditch, but maybe that doesn't count.

1. Conserve your air supply. If you are buried in a typical coffin, you will have enough air to survive for an hour or two at most.Take deep breaths, then hold for as long as possible before exhaling. Do not breathe and then swallow, which will lead to hyperventilation. Do not light a match or lighter. Combustion will quickly use your available oxygen. It is safe to use a flashlight if you have one.Do not yell. Yelling will lead to panic, which will increase your heart rate and lead to fast breathing that
will rapidly consume your air supply.

2. Press up on the coffin lid with your hands.
An inexpensive “pine box” (chipboard coffin) or a recycled paperboard coffin will have some give to it, so it will be relatively easy to break through. If you feel flex in the coffin lid, continue to step 3. A metal clad or hardwood coffin will be impossible to pierce. In this case, your only hope is to signal for rescue. Use a metal object (ring, belt buckle, coin, flask, pen) to signal that you are alive. Tap SOS, the international distress signal, on the coffin lid: three quick taps, followed by three slower taps, followed by three quick taps. Continue to repeat the distress call until someone hears you.

3. Remove your shirt.
Cross your arms over your chest, then uncross your arms so that your elbows are bent and your hands are at your shoulders. Pull your shirt up and off your head from the shoulders, do a partial sit-up (as much as you can in the space available), then pull your shirt over your head and off.

4. Tie the bottom of the shirt in a knot.
The shirt should have only one large opening, at the neck, as does a bag.

5. Place your head through the neck hole.
The knot should be on the top of your head. The shirt will prevent you from suffocating on loose earth.

6. Break through the coffin.
Using your feet, begin kicking the coffin lid. A cheap coffin may have already split from the weight of the earth above, making your job easier. Break apart the lid with your hands and feet and let the loose dirt rush in.

7. Use your hands to push the dirt toward your feet.
There should be some space at the bottom end of the coffin, below your feet. As the dirt rushes in, work quickly but calmly to fill the space at your feet.When this space fills up, push dirt to your sides. Breathe slowly and regularly

8. Sit up.
As you move to a seated position, the loose earth above will move to fill the space you just occupied. As the dirt falls, continue to push it into the coffin until
you can stand up.

9. Stand.
Once you are standing, you should be able to push the dirt above you up and out of the grave. When you have cleared all the dirt above you, climb out.

BE AWARE
• A recently interred coffin will be covered with
loose earth that is relatively easy to dig through.
• Escaping from a coffin interred during a rain
storm will be difficult. The compacted weight of
the wet earth will make digging almost impossible.
• The higher the clay content of the soil, the more
difficult your escape will be.

Drinking Tips For the Season, And The Rest Of The Year

Here is a great drinking chart for all of you who will be indulging with me this holiday season.

The only problem with this chart is that when you really need these tips you're usually too drunk to read .

Still very good troubleshooting tips, I really like the air guitar tip .

All you need this holiday season is the love of your friends and family ... and beer .

Lots of beer ....

F**K The Radio

Seriously I feel like I have lost my mind!

There is something wrong with popular media today, and I have yet to understand whether or not I am the one completely off base or if they are.

I am gonna say them since I still put some trust in my own opinion, and really you are your own cheerleader.

Have you turned on the radio lately?
Have you checked out the popular charts?
Do you see the crap?

This is totally a rant, I own up to it, and I have no idea how to stop the music industry from shoving over-produced juvenile crap down our throats.

I think we need a riot. I mean why not?!

Foot ball fans riot after their team wins. Why not us!!

I can just see it now: tattooed, mow-hawk wearing punks storming recording industry high rises setting Strats and Gibsons on fire (there are sacrifices in war), taking over the air waves and releasing kick ass music back into the world!!

Disclaimer: You totally don't have to have a mow-hawk or tattoo to be in this fantasy, I just totally have a thing about mow-hawks and tattoos ... rad!

Once the music has been released maybe world peace will follow. Do your remember Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure? Their future selves totally brought world peace with hard rocking music!

Why not us!

May be if more people rocked it out harder to Slayer and Type O Negative they would stop killing each outer...

But WTF do I know

This is a rant ....

You're never getting back these seconds ...

Happy Turkey, or Happy Ham?

For all my US friends, hope you enjoy the wonderful food orgy that is Thanksgiving!

May your turkey/ham/gumbo/ or what ever you are chowing down on be good

May your cranberry sauce be red

May your team win

May your relatives not cause a ruckus where your featured on an episode of COPS

May you travel safe to your destination

May love carry you through the day (substitute love with alcohol when needed)

May you destroy the first radio that starts to play Christmas tunes

May you love each other through the rest of the year!

Filling The Holes In My Soul

I gave up a lot of my dreams as I grew up to become a “responsible citizen”. What a laugh! Responsible!

    Alas, you can’t run from your past any more than you can escape the future.

    I was recently reunited with an old friend of mine ... my acoustic guitar.

    You see once upon a time I lived my life living and breathing music, and I was really good. But I gave it up because I couldn’t live with the egos and I also went through some hard personal times that took me far away from my music.

    But I now find myself making friends again with my guitar and I could not be happier. Rediscovering my music makes me realize that I have been walking around with only half my soul. It has also made me realize that dreams are not goals. You can live your dreams without impressing anyone, you dreams are for you and you alone. Who gives a crap what anyone else thinks about them! If you give them up a part of you dies and you become a zombie. No matter how you try to run from what you love it will find you eventually.

    So, slowly but surly I am relearning all my guitar techniques and I think the guitar still loves me . I love acoustic but I think I need a new friend. So, if anyone can recommend a good electric guitar drop me a line. Other than that I am playing and singing and slowly regaining my soul back, it feels good to be whole again.

To Wash Or Not To Wash

My current dilemma ...

This month has been super busy. I have been working my friggin tail off for a work trip to San Diego in November.

I am running out of clean clothes.

You're probably wondering why.

Here is the deal ... I rent a small but cozy apartment a few blocks from the French Quarter. Like most small apartments in New Orleans I do not own or have easy access to a washer/dryer. Therefore I have to go hunting for a place to do this, and I have done it everywhere. Washing I mean ( dirty minds ...).

Recently the local wash-a-teria (how is that friggin spelled?) has become a haunting place for hobos, and miscreants of all sorts.

Now I love my local quacks and crazies, they make my neighborhood very entertaining and fun. But there is a point where the interestingness of the situation becomes dangerous and life threatening. That point has been reached.

So I have not washed clothes in a awhile ...

The dilemma and the questions ...

1. Do you just go out and buy more clothing off the rack?

2. How many times can you where a pair of paints before they start standing up in their own?

3. Is going to work naked ever an option?

4. How many pairs of undergarments can you wash in a sink?

5. Am I rock star enough to go commando?

Some of these questions have been answered. I'll let you guess which ones ...

So I am thereby declaring this the month the month of To Wash Or Not To Wash.

Whether or not I get some clean clothes for San Diego has yet to be determined.

Stay tuned for random up dates (OK not really, I'm lame but not that lame).

Maybe I'll get some pics of my favorite hobos, paparazzi style .
Givin' The Finger To The Record Companies

It’s a great time to be an unsigned band. No one to tell you what to do or what kind of music to make. In the past you might have been worried about getting your stuff out there, getting promotional time ect… With the popularity of My Space, Face Book, and other forms of instant media this is no longer an issue. Now bands can directly interact and listen to their audience, and cut out the middle man (or as Trent Reznor called them “greedy fucking assholes…”).

A-list artists including NIN, Radiohead, Prince, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks and soon, probably Madonna are all throwing off the chains of the music industry and going freelance. Basically they want to be indie, which is funny because a lot of indie artist want to be signed. But you don’t need to be. They all want to be you baby … and it’s a beautiful free artist world out there!

Tips for the unsigned artist include:

1. Get a computer

2. Turn it on

3. Post stuff about your band everywhere (My Space, Face Book, Trig.com …)

4. Give the finger to the record labels

5. Spend you money on good recordings

6. Sell your music directly to your fans

7. Don’t discount iTunes (I know Radiohead doesn’t like them, but they are still one of the most popular places to get mp3s)

8. Get street teams to promote your stuff in every major city of the world

9. Offer exclusive box sets, and other merch to fans directly from your web site

10. Promote your stuff on independent radio

11. Stay creative, if you think it ROCKS, your fans will probably love it too

12. Don’t do popular, the majority of people are idiots

13. Blood, sweat and tears baby … If you give fans your soul they’ll support you everywhere

14. Don’t forget clean underwear, unless you’re going commando

In other words screw the record companies; you don’t really need them in this day and age. All they’re going to do is fuck with your music anyway, try to clean it up so it’s mass marketable (see rule 11). And baby we like you the way you are … dirty and rockin hard!

So stay unsigned, and stay true to your music. If you are going to sell your soul, sell it your fans. You still might feel like a cheap hore, but at least you can ask for the money upfront.

Is Blogging Drunk Bad?

Warning: This is a random no good information blog.

    Here is some good advice, don't go out, come home, and blog drunk. Nothing good will come from this. Disaster is creeping in. I can feel it as I type ... Oh well ...
    Also don't call random people you know drunk ... This is also bad.
Also don't drink, this is bad for your liver.
Also, don't breath as this is bad for your lungs.
Also, don't live as this is bad for your life.
Also, don't dream as surely your dreams will be crushed.
Also, don't love as know one really loves you.
Also, don't care as no one really cares about you.
Also, stop speaking as no one is listening.
Also, be alone, it's what you'll be before you die.
Also, stop blogging, no one is reading.
Also, try to sleep for once, as that's the last thing you can do.

Note: not accountable for this, as I was drunk as a skunk.
Rock It With Venus Doom

I downloaded Venus Doom last week when it first came out, and it's been on constant play on my ipod.

Not sure why, but every song is great, and I have to listen to it over and over again.
Ville Valo is a great rock singer, but I have to give props to Linde and the rest of the guys in the band. All of the playing is dynamic and rock solid. They are frankly just excellent musicians! They have really great layers going on in this album, which means you can't listen to it just once. I have read that some of their younger fans are disappointed in this album. The only thing I can think is that these are 13 year old girls who have yet to achieve the depth of a mud puddle. Maybe I am being to harsh ... but this album friggen ROCKS!! And HIM is not a friggen boy band.

I think I also really connect to this album because, like everyone, I have been through some hard times. The music on Venus Doom connects me to those times without killing me with emotion. They songs make me feel as if its ok to go to those dark places again, and kill them with rock music. Sorry for being to melodramatic. I'm gonna start to sound like a 13 year old girl soon ... jeez.

Anyway the album it awesome and you should pick it up, and give it a listen. Even if it's not your cup of tea I think its worth listening to for the excellence of the band and musical arrangements.
