This is a cry for help.
Okay, now that I have your attention, this isn't a SERIOUS cry for help, like acting out or something, but I could use some help.
I picked up the guitar about two or three years ago and studied under a very awesome teacher. The problem came when he passed away. Since then, I've been trying to teach myself how to play and have been having a difficult time.
I consider myself to be at a more intermediate level as far as skill goes. "Daydream" by Seven Angels is about as skilled as I get right now, but I still can't play it as well as I would like. Can anyone offer me any suggestions? How can I increase my abilities to play solos in the vein of Seven Angels, Metallica, and Mortification (ala Erasing the Goblin)? How can I stop those other strings from ringing, especially when I'm playing fast? What other bands are there that have some great skills with the guitar (most particularly Christian)?
