Leni

My name is Leni, and I am 20 years old. The majority of people, including my friends, would see me as a “tomboy”, I tend to be one of the guys and 95% of my friends are male. People often see me as a “party girl” or “wild child” because I like to have fun. I tend to be out and about almost every night. But by day I am a very boring person to most because I would rather have my head in a book or be in a museum than out playing, so my friends also think of me as a "nerd" and "bookworm".

I am of Salvadorian heritage and my “native” language is Spanish. My second language is German; I started to speak this when I was three years of age thanks to my cousin. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California but did not start to learn English until I was in school, and even then I put up a struggle. I currently live about 20 minutes away from the Sunset Strip, by car. I spend most of my daytime and days in Watts because that is where I lived for a few years and I never want to forget where I come from. I have always lived in the ghetto side of town and it was only until I moved out of my parents’ house that I could live where I wanted. I love to travel; I can speak, read, and write in multiple languages. I am very fond of learning about every culture. I however do not try to imitate the cultures; I just want to have a better understanding of the world and the people who inhabit it. I am most comfortable talking in Spanish but everything seems to be in English these days so I do not have much of a choice.

I enjoy learning many subjects and have many hobbies. I enjoy photography, filming, and art. I was avid in sports until one too many knee surgeries were done and I had to quit sports. If anything catches my interest I will try my best to learn as much about it as I can. I also have an affinity for cars. I am an open-minded individual who is open to suggestions.

I am a vegetarian, although I do not eat any dairy products nor egg products I cannot call myself a vegan because I do consume alcoholic beverages, most of which are not vegan friendly. I tend to like animals more than people, although we are animals as well, lol ‎. I have many pets but currently my favourite is a Havana rabbit. I do not believe in hunting animals for sport nor food, unless absolutely necessary in certain places of the world.

My greatest passion in life is music and I hope to get a band started off the ground this year, hopefully soon. I have been in bands since the age of 10. I have played all positions in bands. The first instrument I learned to play where the drums. I always tend to lie about the age when I learned to play any instrument because I do not want to make people think I am bragging. Music has always been my main focus in life but I always have “Plan B” and “C”. I am the “crazy” one in my group of friends. I will travel to a different city, state, or country to see a band. The perks of living in Los Angeles is that most of the bands that I like get to pass by here. I do not want anyone to label me because I do not listen to just one genre in the rock music world. I listen to almost a bit of everything. Also, considering where I was raised, I also listen to some rap and hip-hop music as well.

I do not care about your background or where you come from. If I think you are an intelligent and worthwhile person, I will get to know you. To warn people though, when I first meet people in person I tend to stay away as much as possible until I make up my mind about them. People see this as me hating them but that is just their opinion. I have a tendency to call everyone “doll” or “doll face” because I tend to forget most of the names of the people that I meet, lol. ‎
