My Goal

Hi Guys. My goal is to put out the kind of music you hear people say "They don't make music like that anymore". When is the last time you heard a song like Prince's Purple Rain and knew that it'd be a song people would be listening to for years to come? I know it's been awhile for me... Some of the music out today seems very disposable. You hear it on the radio on some obsure channel while youre on a road trip and wonder "Whatever happened to that group." That's not who I want to be. I am a very approachable down to earth person and I want to rewaken the world with a good message that is highly groovable:^) It's not impossible to do this. I just wish more artists would try it, and more fans would support it. A lot of media today encourages promiscuity, heavy drinking, drugs & violence. Many of us are not aware, but our minds are changing. We are becoming accustomed to witnessing all of this and losing our innocence and sensibility. I wouldn't go as far as to ban any music because it's all about expression but there should be a better mianstream balance. We need to see society in all it's facets. We need to see the sexy and passionate, we need to see the violence and the peace, the hate and the love. I would like to hear more songs we relate to instead of what the man (who has no idea of what the people want anymore) thinks we wanna hear. Peace for today... More later.

My Journey

Hope your day is going well. I guess I should tell you all what I've been up to. You've heard my music and by the response, you like it. I wanna Thank you all for the support. Artists are very hard on themselves. Before we release anything, we want every note to be right and the song written good as well. When I read my guestbook and emails on Youtube and Myspace, my mouth hangs open and I am humbled by the response. To know a song you wrote can touch people all over the world. It means a lot. When I started this new journey, I didn't have much confidence in my writing skills. I had just been singing around town with a good friend of mine Hollin Gammage. While doing that, I started to refocus on my career in music and starting writing rap hooks. I wrote a hook for a rap song I did with a friend called "Ain't So Bad" the beatmaker loved it and told me I should do a solo version so I started writing and once the song was done, I knew that I could write a good song. After Ain't So Bad came Now Get This and a few other songs you will get to hear in the near future. Once I had material, I know I had to get myself in shape, I don't want the record labels to have anything against me. I started eating better and working out daily and lost nearly 20lbs. You can see the difference in my videos. Recently I started taking vocal lessons where some of the best in the industry like Matchbox Twenty, Usher, TLC and others have trained. My voice is better by leaps and bounds and I know it will continue to get better. Since then, I have gained the attention of a few people inside the industry wanting to do some work. I don't have any finalized details yet, but you will see me around. Peace for now, more later.
Levar.

My Interview w. Esteemed Journalist Loni Reeder

I've been in the game for awhile now. I started singing in church and with my cousins in a group since i was in middle school. I got serious about a career in music about a year ago when I started to sing around town with a friend of mine named Hollin Gammage. Since then it's been quite a ride. Along the way I've met the acquaintance of Loni Reeder. Loni is an outstanding journalist among many things, you can read more about her here. It's a trip to know that she digs my work. Read the interview here.
