My parents were in a car accident around midnight. Their SUV hydroplaned and rolled twice before stopping on the side of the road. Dad's a little sore, while Mom has stitches on the side of her nose and is all swollen.

It honestly could have been worse. I know Dad feels guilty for the accident, since he barely has a scratch on him. I feel guilty because I didn't hear the phone ring when they tried to call. Dad tried to call me as soon as the accident happened, but I was asleep. He kept trying, but still, couldn't hear the phone. He tried my cell around 4:30 this morning, telling me I had to go to Scranton (about an hour away) to get them from the ER at CMC.

They're lucky. That's all I can say. Instead of picking them up from the ER earlier, I could have been making funeral arrangements. I thank every diety known to man that their injuries weren't more severe.

I still feel guilty though...
