This is MadEra
ABOUT MADERA: With fluid instrumentals and Jake White’s melodic (but not cookie-cutter) vocals, anchored by drummer Lloyd Snyder, MadEra combines the old and new: ‘80s metal sensibilities strained through a more modern, sometimes hardcore, presentation. Lead guitarist Chris Madara has played with Snyder in a variety of bands for more than a decade. Searching for a vocalist who could scream as well as sing. Enters White who, Prior to joining MadEra, filled back up roles playing guitar and adding harmony to singers that preferred to scream. After burning through more than a few bassists the band struck a nice fit with Charlie Rickard. All told, Snyder has played glam metal. Madara dabbles in classical guitar. And the soft-spoken White, members joke, could just as easily be an opera singer. MadEra also has a full length CD titled “The Strangest Place,” which involved the engineering help of singer/songwriter Shane Gamble. In which, the bands ‘80s metal influences ring clear. However, what makes it more their own is the added volume and raw intensity – stop and go, toned down elements of hardcore. Plus, on the other side of the spectrum, there are slowed down tempos to accentuate musicianship and the versatility of White’s voice.
