Easter, this supposedly Christian celebration of nailing an early freethinker and rebel to a piece of wood is here. Finns have some peculiar pagan traditions how to spend their eastern.
Easter = Pääsiäinen
Mämmi = Soured rye-flour and malt porridge eaten with sugar and cream.
Trulli, Pääsiäisnoita = Easter witch
Pajunkissa = sallow catkins
Kokko = bonfire
Virpoa = To cast spells with the Sallow branches. Protecting from the evil
Tipu, Pääsiäistipu = chick, Easter chick
I guess we can take a lot of shit, since this is Mämmi:
Trulls are known of much mischief. They have been reported to mutilate and steal cattle. Bonfires were burned and spells cast to repel these ill wanting witches. Who have been reported to fornicate with the devil on black Sabbath in Köyliönvuori.
"kun täydessä mämmissä jahtaa illalla tipuja,
herää aamulla noita-akan vierestä ja miettii
millainen yllätys munassa mahtaa odottaa"
== when you were in full mämmi chasing chicks the nigh,
you wake up in the morning besides a witch wondering of
what kind of surprise there might be waiting in the egg
"munarikasta pääiäistä!"
== egg-rich Easter!
=~ ballsy/cock-rich Easter
"munat vanhenee, ei kanat"
== eggs go old, not chicken
P.S we do not have Easter bunnies left.. Those are extinct.

I don't know if I could ever try the Mämmi haha. It looks pretty sick...
Munarikasta Pääiäistä!
Easter is about the resurrection, not the crucification... but pagan ways are waaaay more fun
It seriously looks like someone has taken a crap ina bowl of cream, I han't even read the caption above it
. Saying that it looks remarkabley like xmas pudding-student style
Happy Easter!
Easter is for chocolate..
have to admit - mämmi looks.. interesting!
Hyvää pääsiästä! Tyypilliseen tapaan söin oman mämmi kiintiöni täyteen jo kauan ennen pääsiäistä
.
Easter tends to fall between the Equinox and Bealtaine. I have always been told it is the Equinox the Christians took over, but I am never sure myself.
I guess it is a celebration of life, no matter which view point you take,
Have a good one!
You remembered it was Easter?
