Nik began dj'ing in the legendary Arts College in Belfast almost 10 years ago when he dj'ed for beer on a friday badly mixing hip hop with punk, jungle and ska. He then started as resident in breakdown and the limelight before running his own floor in Vicos and being the resident at Beatsuite (Nik's favourite small club). It was at these nights nik found his feet and developed his style playing right across the board and refusing to be pidgeonholed. Although Nik's main love is hip hop you can expect to hear funk, dub, electro, rock, disco, grime, soul, house, breakbeat, d+b, techno and a few of his own productions and remixes. Last year Nik had a number of vinyl releases which received conciderable radio and club play from Annie Mac, Erol Alkan, Annie Nightingale, Steinski and also on radio playlists in Japan, Australia, USA and Europe. Over the past few years Nik has played regularly at the mighty Shine (Niks favourite large club) and more recently in the Stiff Kitten while also running Champion Sound with Lyndon Stephens. He has also graced the turntables at many clubs around N Ireland and Scotland. Nik has supported some huge names while playing at these clubs such as Dj Spinna, Schooly D, Dilated Peoples, RJD2, Arrested Development, So Solid Crew, Prince Paul, Stanton Warriors, Jon Carter, Erol Alkan, Dj Yoda, Scartch Perverts, Dj Noize, Mr Scruff, Cash Money, Glimmer Twins, J Live, Ugly Duckling, People under the stairs and many many more Nik's dj'ing has gained him numerous live sets on both Radio 1 Xtra and BBC radio Ulster to rave reviews and this year he played at Irelands largest festival Oxygen. Nik is always trying to evolve his dj'ing and is currently putting together a band so he can play his productions live. This will concist of a 16 year old bass player/MC who was a member of the jazz youth orchestra, a classicaly trained pianist/jazz singer, 2 turntablists, live percussion and more to be added. During the day nik can be found behind the counter at Mixmaster Records and teaching at Sonic Dj Academy. Nik makes, plays, sells and teaches music. MUSIC IS HIS LIFE
