All dolled up and nowhere to go?

Some people think social networking makes people stay at home, chained to their computers. I am prepared to say the opposite is true, at least after the release of our new function: events.
With events, bands can create tour schedules, party promoters invite triggers to the launch of the new Britney Spears fragrance (you might choose not to go to that one), and friends create an event as irreverent as "Starbucks 15.30?". It is up to you what an event is.
Events are mainly managed on your home page where you by now can see a tab called 'events' (no surprises there). Create an event for any one-off thing (from the release party for the new Good Charlotte album to your private birthday bash) or a tour if you actually are a band or anything similar (lecturer maybe?) and want to create a series of events in one go.
You can of course choose to attend the events you are invited to, and you can leave a comment to let everyone know how psyched you are about finally being able to see Prince live, but it is also possible to search for new events anywhere in the world. This is why I feel the age of social isolation is over. I mean, even if you are trekking to Kathmandu, you might end up seeing Nepal's hottest punk rock band!
The global events page can be found under Trig pages in the top menu and as well as searching events on certain dates and in specified cities you can see the hottest events right now, hot basically meaning the most attended, trigged and commented on events.
And finally, all the events you are going to or have created yourself will be displayed on your home page under the heading 'upcoming events'. We don't want you to forget about them, do we?
