This is Night of the Brain

Night of the Brain are a four-piece band, based in Barcelona. They make songs about love and nothing, wine and angels. Before and after the implosion of his previous band Super_Collider, Cristian Vogel spent many years touring Europe alone, playing records and struggling to find his way home. 'Little' Mike 'Fuzz' Hermann was waiting patiently back in Barcelona for him to finally realise that maybe he could no longer make it alone. Mike had been on a few adventures of his own since his involvement with the Berlin hardcore scene in the mid-eighties, and shared many post-everything sentiments with the Vogelist. He was in a post-berlin/pizza-tech phase when Cristian finally asked him to help pin down his song ideas. Together, they sowed the seeds of a special band, one that was capable of applying techno-serial composition techniques and punk garage attitude in equal amounts. It didn't take long to realise that a very special drummer was needed, at least to avoid the dreaded 'two-guys-and-a-drumcomputer' style. After an excruciating search around the neighbourhood, they found Cristobal Massis, a brilliant young drummer, studying jazz at the conservatory of music in Barcelona. Cristobal had no problem coping with Cristian's rudimentary serialist concepts, but was forced to confront jazz science head on, when the newly formed Night of the Brain began recording sessions together, laying down songs of raw grundge energy and nervous, naked beauty. The final factor in the equation is Merche Blasco aka Burbuja, who arrived back from 2 years at Fabrica in Italy and agreed to come on board, to help perform the complex electronics and provide a much needed feminine presence to the sound of the band. Night of the Brain release their debut 10" , The Theme EP , on Station 55 Records in March 2007. The first album featuring 10 songs will be released on the same label before the summer.

Geez can't I join a social network without getting harrassed by some project
with Cristian Vogel in it? The smileys in this thing don't come close to the Pablo Fiasco ones though.
