Global Warming
Statistics:
• The average temperature of Earth has climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit around the world since the year 1880.
• 2004 was the fourth warmest year on record. The 10 hottest years on record have all occurred since 1990.
• We are dumping about 1000 tons of CO₂ per second into the atmosphere.
• Current greenhouse gas levels are far higher than for the previous 650,000 years.
Causes:
Global warming is caused by the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, animal slaughter, the emission of carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and other greenhouse gases.
Effects:
If the average temperature of earth continues to rise steadily, the consequences are unimaginable. Extreme weather, tropical disease, war, glacier disappearance, rise in sea levels, temperature rise, extinction of many animal/plant species, and forest fires are among the effects of climate change.
What You Can Do:

I say - If you don't want everyone around you and future generations to live in a world that is constantly slammed by extreme weather, TAKE ACTION TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING! I cannot stress this enough. Do you want New York City to be underwater? That's just one of many things that can happen if you don't take action today.

Factory Farming
If you truly love animals, you wouldn't eat them.
• Each day, factory farms produce billions of pounds of manure, which ends up in lakes, rivers, and drinking water.
Chickens:
• More than 9 billion chickens are raised on factory farms each year in the U.S.
• Chickens are bred and drugged to grow so large so quickly that their legs and organs can't keep up, making heart attacks, organ failure, and crippling leg deformities common. When they are only 6 or 7 weeks old, they are crammed into cages and trucked to slaughter.
• At the slaughterhouse, their legs are snapped into shackles, their throats are cut, and they are immersed in scalding hot water to remove their feathers. Because they have no federal legal protection (birds are exempt from the Humane Methods of Slaughter Act), most are still conscious when their throats are cut open, and many are literally scalded to death in the feather-removal tanks after missing the throat cutter.
Cows:
• In the U.S., more than 41 million of these sensitive animals suffer and die for the meat and dairy industries every year.
• When they are still very young, cows are burned with hot irons (branding), their testicles are ripped out of their scrotums (castration), and their horns are cut or burned off—all without painkillers.
• Once they have grown big enough, they are sent to massive, muddy feedlots to be fattened for slaughter or to dairy farms, where they will be repeatedly impregnated and separated from their calves until their bodies give out and they are sent to die.
• Cattle raised for beef are usually born in one state, fattened in another, and slaughtered in yet another. Many cows die on the way to slaughter, and those who survive are shot in the head with a bolt gun, hung up by their legs, and taken onto the killing floor, where their throats are cut and they are skinned. Some cows remain fully conscious throughout the entire process.
Pigs:
• 97 percent of pigs in the United States today are raised on factory farms.
• As piglets, they are taken away from their mothers when they are less than 1 month old; their tails are cut off, some of their teeth are cut off, and the males have their testicles ripped out of their scrotums (castration), all without any pain relief.
• Breeding sows spend their entire miserable lives in tiny metal crates where they can't even turn around. Shortly after giving birth, they are once again forcibly impregnated. This cycle continues for years until their bodies finally give out and they are sent to be killed.
• When the time comes for slaughter, these smart and sensitive animals are forced onto transport trucks that travel for many miles through all weather extremes—many die of heat exhaustion in the summer and arrive frozen to the inside of the truck in the winter. Many are still fully conscious when they are immersed in scalding water for hair removal.
Vegetarianism:
• Research has shown a low-fat vegetarian diet is the single most effective way to stop progression of coronary artery disease or prevent it altogether. Several other health conditions, such as diabetes, obesity, gallstones, and kidney stones, are much less common in vegetarians.
• Powerful animal studies showing that the primary protein in milk (casein) promotes cancer. Yes, according to multiple animal studies, milk promotes tumor growth.
What You Can Do:

I say - When you eat or buy meat, you really are supporting the cruel treatment of these sweet animals and contributing to global warming and world hunger. You may say, "but God gave us the animals so we could eat them!" HAH! Thats where you're wrong.

I'm not trying to scare you; I want to show you THE TRUTH. Go vegetarian or vegan. You'll help yourself, the animals, and the world around you!

I say - Animals feel pain! Do you not understand that?! Would you want this done to your own pet cat or dog? I don't think you would! Why should it be done to other animals? Look at the links above. If you use anything that is tested on animals, I say don't buy it ever again. Spend the extra dollar on a non-tested and animal product-free shampoo or soap!

I say - I can't write any more on this topic, it saddens and disgusts me too much. Do you think this is sad? THEN FREAKIN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! If you really believe in peace, show it and be proud. Get a few people together, make some "stop the war" and "honk for peace" signs, go out and enjoy yourself while making a difference. Small things like this can make a difference. Who knows? Someone may be inspired by your actions and follow in your footsteps.
