This is scare
Hi everyone, welcome to my trig..
My name is Cesar Botero; I was born in Colombia, a country with a very beautiful landscape, abundant natural resources and the worst reputation ever thanks to Hollywood movies and the well known drug cartels and the never-ending war between drug lords, politicians, paramilitary forces, guerrilla warfare groups, organized crime, money launderers and the Colombian Army.
All of that anger in the atmosphere is what I think molded me into what I became to be, a rock musician.
In my teens I started to listen to rock, punk and metal music, I loved those brutal sounds and the different styles that were created back in the eighties and nineties.
In 1989 I started my first band Ladoscuro, first as a drummer/vocalist and later as front man; I quit the drums after seeing our drummer playing before he was in the band, he wanted to work with us so he got in and I switched to vocals only. Ladoscuro stemmed various other bands and projects, even though we only released a tape with four songs on it. Musicians from this band have played with some of the top metal bands in Bogotá like Ethereal, Kilcrops and Agony among others, our bass player Miguel Hidalgo is playing now with Bogota’s Philharmonic orchestra!!!
In 1990 I was called to front another metal band, a grind/punk /thrash outfit Sangre Picha. (Rotten Blood) This band had a good impact in the Colombian metal scene and positioned my talent and connection with the audience. They only released a CD Evolución Irremediable, by the time they released the album I was out of the band and the vocal tracks were done by a friend who respected my texts in all the songs.
1992 was the year I joined a thrash metal band from Bogotá called Agony. We did three releases: Live All the Time 1995, Millennium 1996 and 2002’s Reborn. The latter was recorded in Los Angeles California. Agony brought us to the US to work with producer Tom Fletcher for the recording sessions. We decided to stay in the US, it was definitely the best place to be for the band at that moment. Agony is remembered by fans to this very day for the passion, energy and delivery in our live performances.
In 2003 I decided to split ways with Agony, we lost two of our band mates and the sound of the band changed dramatically it wasn’t the same; it wasn’t fun for me anymore so I got bored. Then I decided to be true to myself and to them and left. Later on I tried in for a lot of bands until I came to form part of Paincorp a band from California, one month later we disbanded after we recorded a demo. In the same year I started another project called SINdrome, and six months later recorded a demo and started playing gigs in Orange County. The band lost two members; our guitar player left to tour with I.R.A.T.E. and our drummer was also drumming for SIX and could not commit to us anymore so my bassist and I decided to call it quits.
So three years later as I got more and more into music production and sound, I wanted to create another metal outfit, based on a different approach , this time playing guitar and singing.
I started to write songs and recorded them on to pro tools using Reason to sequence the drum parts and recording bass lines guitars vocals and some keys.
This early recordings propelled me to want to make it the real way, with a live band. Everything was written and arranged, it was practically ready. So I called some friends to play live with me, I needed cool guys that spoke my same language musically and that’s how this guys got selected. Marcelo Gomez (MG-drums) came in first, then Dilson Diaz (D2-bass) and later Carlos Marin (B2-Guitar) to form the live outfit DECODE. They are also part of psycho punk freaks, Colombia’s La Pestilencia, an excellent and very well known band in Latin America that now resides in the US.
In 2007 I decided to re-joined Agony to play @ Rock al Parque Festival.
All the members of this band's golden era have reunited to do a series of shows in 2007-08, stay tuned for more info.

MG actually played drums in the recording you hear in our profile. D2 helped me with the mix and to shape the final sound.
I am also the other half of the industrial/down tempo duo Brødre Inertia
