Have you ever felt like there is just too much stress and tension in your life and you're seriously about to break?

Burned out, underappreciated, or exhausted?

Welcome to life. That's life for most of us, right?

Then you might ask yourself why does it seem that it doesn't happen to anyone else, only me? Honestly, I think everyone goes through it - it's just a matter of how you handle it. There comes a time we need to make a change. Sometimes it's healthy to just take time out to really analyze your life and make some sense of the apparent chaos you're going through. So you sit down and evaluate your life. Are you where you want to be? Are you happy with your current situation?

I believe anything, within reason, is possible if you want it. It's up to you to make the circumstances right to get it.

In most cases I'm referring to "it" as happiness.  After all, life is short. Never settle for being unhappy or miserable "for the time being" as you might not have a "later" to experience the happiness you should be rewarded with after all of the sacrifice and pain/anger/frustration you've endured.

I recently had to make some changes in my life, some big, some small to achieve my desired level of happiness. It's definitely not easy. In the back of your mind, you "want to have your cake and eat it, too," but your logic is telling you that you must be realistic at the same time.

Sometimes it's as simple as scrutinizing your current situation in life and decide which variable it is that is adding to or causing stress and upset in your life. Then again, sometimes it isn't that easy. Just as you evaluate your life, it's also a good idea to evaluate those who are influencing you. Whether it be co-workers, family members or friends, any one of these people can be making a negative impact on your life. Where does that get you? It sure as hell slows you down, and will get you nowhere if you let it.

Don't let these people get in your way of achieving happiness. To be fair, it's wise to let those people know that they ARE affecting you in a negative way. Shedding some light on a relationship with someone is valuable, as that other person might not have any clue that they are adding to the negativity in your life.

I'm not saying that an immediate change is necessarily the route one should take. I think before making a change, all pros/cons and options should be weighed. If you find that you've exhausted all of your options and you're really at a standstill, perhaps a change is necessary. Even the smallest changes can make the biggest differences, for the better, in your life.

The long and short of that is, stand up for yourself, don't make excuses by blaming someone else for holding you down. Make a change. Get up and do something about it. Sure you can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?  I dare you ... no wait, I double dog dare you ... forget that, I tripple dog dare you.

* A continuing in series. Yeah, I know you probably have heard this all before. But sometimes you need to hear it one more time. The simple truths are the best.
