Gasp, MDB toppled!

For the first time since the dawn of my last fm charts (www.last.fm/user/korsrol) MDB are no longer on top! Replaced by none other than Paradise Lost. At least I don't yet have the shame of Avril Lavigne being no.1!
Recent Narcotic Death Gigs

Cheers to everyone who turned up to our first set of gigs, I think we had a great debut at the Snooty Fox and good gigs at Subculture and the 2 at Rios. The 2nd Rios gig was certainly an eye raiser, we we're booked because 2 bands has pulled out the day before the gig, turned up and the headliner pulled out too, so we ended up being supported by an MC going on about something...guns hos and bitches probibly before our black/death metal set. But still, cheers to everyone, especially the sound guy from sub/rios and the bang bang project.

Heres a review from the snooty gig:

"A last minute cancellation from Reth came as a disappointment although filling their shoes are Wakefield natives Narcotic Death, for whom I have a hard time believing that today is their gigging debut. Their musical output at times seems suitable for the Enslaved grounds of battle, with some Viking metal riffs and strong drumming and even some elements of thrash mixed into the chaos. The real eyebrow raiser here is the vocals of the frontlady who has a fantastic harsh croak that more than makes up for her wooden stage presence. This will no doubt come along nicely with experience and in time these could become a force to be reckoned with."

Our EP will be out as soon as the discs come back from the printers, just 2 quid.

Angel Immortal: Celestial Lyrics

With all the vocal parts to celestial done, seem like a good time to post the lyrics!

Deep in darkness you will find
A pacifist of demon kind
Black-struck, bad luck
Undefined
Slowly breaking
Killing time
Make it so and
Make it go
Rivers whining
Overflow
Muddy thicket of the deep
Walking through it you may weep

Celestial
Celestial

Feeble, evil Sanctimonies
From that pit of Matrimony
What wherever
You might go
Creepy making
Overload
Fascinated by the dark
Pumping fear with cold remarks
Life or Death it's only kind
To let go of what's left behind

Celestial
Celestial
Smile briefly, you won't
Take pity, you don't
Not jealous, you are…

Itch, stitch, poor, rich, confound, mega bitch
Blah-blah, no ta, tell me first who you are
Wanna go? So-so…fuck you oh no
Yo-no go home If you wanna be…
Celestial…

Started my workplacement for 3rd year of uni at SMV studios / 53rd Degree Records in Bradford. Been doing a whole host of stuff from recording, soldering, office stuff and ofc making the tea!

One band recorded so far is ‘The Creeks’ (indie/rock/experimental)

Check them out at www.myspace.com/thecreeksrock

Also been in the studio with alfie laying down some vocals for the Angel Immortal song ‘celestial’ - t’is sounding good! Got an acid dub mix on the go as well to trip things out and funk things up!

Attended the west riding beer/music festival which was full of the usual weirdos, scum and celebrities, for too much booze was had by everyone! Police came for some reason, crused around then pissed off again!

Played Narcotic Death’s first ever gig! All dayer at the snooty fox in aid of cancer research, was great fun and hopefully we went down well! Entered the studio next day to record an e.p, would be fucking great weather! Our next gig is on the 21st of june at Leeds Rios

Orchestra of Opera North - 14th March

Fernes conducts Brahms and Bartok’ - worth pointing out that Kodaly was on the bill two, but for some reason didn’t get a mention in the title, even though the piece (Dances of Galanta) rivalled that of Bartok’s ‘Piano Concerto No.3’ and Brahms ‘Symphony No.1’. All were great pieces, but the winner had to be the concerto (soloist was Jean-Efflam Bavouzet) with its grim dis-chord bits and what not.

Dominion 08 - 15th March

Another all dayer at the Snooty Fox where everyone gets pissed and wonders why the floors so sticky. This one had ‘The Skull Branded Pirates’ (who I didn’t see), ‘Warmoth’, who didn’t look like a very happy bunch, ‘Boltdown’, who I missed due to drink and pool, ‘Leaden’, who I missed due to a very sweaty pizza, ‘Pitiful Reign’, who were meh, ‘Honey For Christ’ who were pretty cool and ‘Frosthold’ and ‘The Prophecy’ who were both as good as ever. The t’ing raised £300 for cancer research n’all, which aint band.

Uploads
