This is Smokesuit
THE PAST:
First there was a big bang along with a bizarre flash of light. About 13.7 billion years later the band that was to become Smokesuit drew its first breath. In 1997,four talented and determined young men from Seinäjoki(Finland), put together an ensemble that produced very loud and very heavy music. They practised relentlessy and played to appreciating crowds in Finland and abroad. It all went along very well with a couple of single releases that received good reviews and gathered a small following of fans.
The future looked bright for the boys but as a collective they felt that the music had stopped evolving and didn't sound as inspiring as it should. So what now, they thought. Well, with a weird twist of lemon, along came Marcus in 2003 to complete the line-up and now the fearsome five found new ways to express their melodical perversions. In 2005, after serious contemplating and indeed some serious drinking, they found a name that suited (pun intended) their unique collaboration: Smokesuit. Band recorded a promo cd"The Magnified-EP" (2006), which received nothing but praise around the world. The cd's were pressed in Mexico City and mastered in United States by Mexican production company BroomKaia Producciones. YEAR
2007:
In the spring the Cyanide Mindeye- single was released to pave the way for the long awaited debut album which is set for release in early 2008. Also a music video for the song Cyanide Mindeye was shot. At the same time Smokesuit was chosen as one of the first candidates for Takeoff talent which was launched by Coca Cola and i-Tunes. In the national Alku.-competition they stood out from 450 other bands, and won a gig at Provinssirock 2007. At the moment band is finalising the recording of 15 new songs. In upcoming material Smokesuit offers a stunning blend of rock and rhytm, "grunge" and grace, inspiration and emotion. Welcome, our friends, to our part of the universe.
