Yep, this wednesday we released "The pleasure to end all pleasures" on V2/Bonnier Amigo. I Sverige då alltså. Had a great releaseparty at Pet Sounds Bar and have seen some amazing reviews roll in since. I'll put them up here for all of you to see (for they do make me proud, yes).

Rasande krafter
Hyllningskören har redan stämt upp unisont. Streetwaves ska med "The
Pleasure to end all pleasures" ha gjort en av Sveriges bästa
indierockskivor på länge. Oraklen hittar inte ett svagt spår på skivan,
hårdrockarna verkar trivas med den och tyskarna tror på
köttbullekrafter. Kan det verkligen stämma? Jag lyssnar, lyssnar igen, lyssnar en hel
massa gånger i sträck, och inser att jag bara kan stämma in i
hyllningarna. Sällan har jag kunnat lyssna på ett liknande album så
många gånger i sträck utan att känna mig uttråkad. Streetwaves pendlar
dynamiskt mellan rena och skära energiutbrott (”Voids of charm”) till
melankoliskt långsammare betraktelser (”Holy Stranger”). Modern
disthistoria (The Hives) möter historisk (The Damned). Och som tidigare
nämnts, det finns faktiskt inte ett enda svagt spår på skivan. Otroligt
befriande.

not a single weak track on The pleasure. Seriously. I have listened,

Hives already have been for a while. Swedish guitar-rock that kicks

This one-track sampler from Streetwaves' forthcoming full-length
debut is a real pearl. Rattling drums, yelling vocals and distorted
guitars in a 3.27 minutes long energy bomb.
I hear the same nonchalant charm that The Libertines and, at times,
Babyshambles have refined. It's gonna be really really exciting to hear
the forthcoming album The pleasure to end all pleasures!
MUSIKLANDET
Med en kombination av punkig energi och lugnare vemod avverkas elva
spår som får mig att tänka på så skilda akter som The Soft Boys och en
mindre smart Tom Verlaine. Streetwaves är egentligen i grund och botten
mer alternativ-pop än rock, men i låtar som Dark Years och Slow penance
har de rockmusikens attack och bandet skulle säkert kunna göra en
larmigare platta än denna om de ville. Bra är dock inte nödvändigtvis
synonymt med rockigt, vilket Streetwaves visar och några av
höjdpunkterna på The Pleasure To End All Pleasures är i mitt tycke
Death of excitement vars video snurrat på MTV Alternative Nation,
plattans första singel Voids of charm, hackiga och Joy Division-aktiga
Choking in the boys room och vackra Love was never young.
