Just so you know....

I am in the process of deleting many "friends" I have collected here at Trig. ("Collected"......what a horrible word to be used in conjunction with "friends". )

I love Trig and (most of) the people here. I love talking to all kinds of different people from all the States and the World, and I hope to continue doing so. But I realized I had all these "friends" that have never spoken to me, I've never spoken to them. People that just requested an "add" yet never so much as sent a message or said Hi....and I just added them. Maybe that's part of this silly internet world, to see how many "friends' you can add, get that number up there on your profile. But anyone can be "added".....only certain people can be friends.

If we have never conversed or developed any kind of friendship whatsoever.....I will be deleting you. No offense to you at all. I'm not doing this to be a bitch to anyone. It's my fault for adding people I would never talk to as much as it is yours for not even saying Hi with your request for an add. I may be deleting some very, very good people. But they are not my friends. At least not right now.

I'm only keeping the people who are friends, who I actually have conversations with. And the people that I may not speak to often, or hear from often, but will occasionally bop in and say Hi and I will do the same for them.

I will be deleting most of the bands I have as "friends" here also. Many I have just added, again simply because they sent a request. (If you really care about your music, send me a message and I'll give you a listen. )

I'll still gladly accept new friendships, if you send a message and we both take time to get to know each other. I will not however accept anyone who simply sends and add request.

Friends are to be treasured, not "collected".

As of right now, we have won more states and delegates than Senator Clinton. It's a remarkable achievement we can all be proud of.

Tonight, we know one thing for sure -- our time has come, our movement is real, and change is coming to America.

At this moment in history, the stakes are too high and the challenges too great to play the same Washington game with the same Washington players and expect a different result.

This time must be different.

There will be those who say it cannot be done. But we know what we have seen and what we believe -- that when ordinary people come together we can still do extraordinary things.

That being said, have you ever thought of adding "author" to your ongoing and evergrowing repertoire? I've got my bottle of Primer Paso ready and waiting!

MJK: Author. Great film starring Dudley Moore if Im not mistaken. Hopeless romantic and alcoholic. Wasn't Liza Minnelli In that one? No. Wait. you said Author. Not Arthur. Hell no. I couldn't write my way out of an SNL sketch gone horribly wrong.

DKMOSELER: Big wine drinker myself...I work at the Wine Enthusiast. How many new wines do you taste or do you focus on the cult classics and established vineyards? Love the new album. My 2 1/2 year old grooves to it!

MJK: We try all recommended wines, especially if they're free.

QUEENBROOKE: So, do your ideas come from your subconscious, too? One of my most profound realizations a couple years ago was that the inverted pentagram, "goat's head", is a uterus and ovaries. The Devil is a woman, persona of Earth, likely a God's lover. I think we must be drinking from the same cup. Here is some suggested reading: The Tarot of the Bohemians by Papus; Sefer Yetzirah, translation published by Weiser.

MJK: Lighten up, Francis.

MZREGINA: Are you planning a tour featuring the suicide girls with puscifer? I would love to see everyone gyrating on stage grooving to the puscifer songs with you at the epicenter. Hell, it just doesn't get any sexier than that^_^

ATTUNEDFLUX: Ahoy there Maynard! I for one get a bit tired of the same old questions, so i thought id get right to the core, if you are willing to go there that is. Over the last few years you 'seem' to be a bit more apathetic about the social and political future of the world. Would you care to give us any insight into your world view and how it has changed over the years? This can include political views(presidential candidates, the economy), spiritual views, mythological references etc. Thank you! Its always interesting to do some introspection inspired by your lyrics and poetry.

MJK: Your observations have misled you. I put out a politically charged "war song" album with apc just a few years back. And I'm currently attempting to navigate a path to "independence." One that those who chose to, can then navigate with less difficulty. For details on this, visit www.caduceus.org and the overall mission may become more clear.

PERFECTLYFLAWED: What do you generally do to get your thought process going, what do you do to cure creativity block??

MJK: Live. Breathe. Observe. Steal. Sleep on it all. Interpret. Regurgitate. Rinse. Repeat.

THENAMESZACK11: David Bowie- The Melvins- Rage against the machine- the deftones- and so on, you've had a long musical career, with all these amazing artist, who was your favorite to work with? or were they all fun and amazing experiences?

MJK: Although nothing was ever recorded, my favorite musical moment was having Joni Mitchell describe something to me by playing her thoughts on a piano.

SILVERTHORN: Would you like to pursue more acting roles?

MJK: Yes. I would like to play Cassius Clay/Muhammed Ali in the Off Broadway Stage presentation of "Rumble In The Jungle" an Interpretive Musical.

ZOMBIE_EATER: Obviously you are huge fan of wine, so as a chef, I was wondering what would be your choice of perfect food/wine pairing?

MJK: Soldera Reserva 1990 with Truffle Cream Sauce and Fresh Italian Egg Noodles/Pasta

HBYNOE: I love your experimentation with Puscifer i think it sums up a persona that is lighter but in many ways a bit more adventurous. i think it is brave and enlightening. i want to know as an artist what has been the hardest internal obstacle for you to overcome as it is so hard to bare oneself yet alone so many parts of your being.

MJK: The reinvention has been the most challenging. Not so much the creative flow, but the outside resistance to such a process and the fruits of the process.

LANCEBOIVIN: I believe you are a very happy person. Are you happy? I hope so. :)

MJK: Happiness is A) a state of mind and B) a great film. The former can be achieved thru the use of cocoa beans and the latter can be enjoyed while consuming said cocoa bean products and popcorn.

QWERTYUIOP: Is Blair actually Phillip Seymour Hoffman?

MJK: Negative. He is an experimental textile factory by-product known as Arachno-Hypnol. One part Poly-ethyleen, one part, Vetruvian Cottonelle, and one part Anti-Histamine, 3 parts Makers mark. No ice.

AUROBOROS: Is the name Puscifer a clever way of expressing the counterparts Isis/Nephthys? Precession of the Equinoxes catch all project? I know this is a valid understanding but is this your inspiration?

MJK: Yes and No.

HUMANZOO: What have been the three most influential books you've read?

MJK: "The Mysteries of Harris Burdick," "Little, Big," and "Sybil."

PHATSPLIFFZ: First Off, I love the wine, clothing line and new album. I was just wondering what's next?? I mean is there any plans for a Puscifer tour, especially out here in Phoenix , AZ ?? I sure hope so, please say yes.

MJK: No tour planned yet, but someday. To properly present this project live, we must think outside the box and abandon what we know of the typical touring process.

TOADFLAX: At a glance, Sour Grapes is a very tounge-in-cheek, cries of the carrots-esque adventure. After hearing it over and over again, though, while the "sermon" is delivered comedically, I actually find the song, especially the choral landscape, to be incredibly moving. Given your rocky-at-best relationship with religion, I was wondering how much of this track is a joke to you and how much, if any, is genuine meditation, exploration, reflection, etc.

MJK: You might want to check out an indie film called Zeitgeist. I don't buy into all of it, but some of it is very entertaining and educational.

R_WEBER: How do you feel about the music industry? Do you think what Saul Williams and Radiohead are doing might be a safe or sorry experiment?

MJK: Time will tell, but one thing is for sure... Making music isn't free. So expecting it to be free once recorded is a little silly and naive. I think BMW's should be free. Or Twizzlers and Popcorn. And Hookers. Hookers should DEFINITELY be free. The theme restaurant chain. not the prostitutes.

WRETCHEDMONKEY: With your latest branchings into wine and 'solo' efforts in music miscellania and merch. is there an end insight for the once angry and outspoken (when there was apparently something to say) MJ Keenan?

MJK: There are still things being said. You just have to be calm and mature enough to hear them.

FIEROKILLER: You have any plans on making a "US legal Absinthe", or outside US real Absinthe? BTW Puscifer has a great sound.

MJK: No but I do plan on making Grappa someday.

CHERRYBELLA: If you could have 2 minutes to sit and speak with President Bush, what would you say to him?

MJK: I wouldn't say anything. I would simply listen. Oh, you said President Bush. I thought you meant the BAND, Bush. My bad.

ARTSAVESLIVES: Maynard, you are obviously a very busy man with the vineyard, Tool, and now Puscifer. Could you walk us through a typical day in the life of Maynard (i.e. what time do you wake up and begin work?, how much time do you spend at the vineyard?, what time you do to bed? , etc )???

MJK: Up with the sun, down with the sun. It's the perfect metronome.

LITMUSTEST: Since you are an artist and all you can do is be an artist then there has to be some part of you that is also a philosipher. If you could please describe your feelings good bad or indifferent relating to the historical and phycoanalytical influence that UFOOLOGY has on the human spirit. Because I know in certain lights that you like to make a mockery of the phenom which is at times very intertaining. But your hysterics of the phenomenon I feel at times turns into a philosophic and logical understanding of the subject. I know that you have at least some interest in the subject because I can see and read it in your art. Would you so kindly relate. See you in the NO...

ANALIEN: Maynard, how do you see Puscifer as evolving from this point? What I mean is that it seems to me that the album is sort-of a release from the pressures of TOOL and that Puscifer allows you to explore different musical styles and genres. Do you see Puscifer as an evolving concept, and if so will it enable you to explore even more sounds and styles than the latest release?

MJK: This is only the beginning of a process. There is much more coming. Many mediums. Many facets. And all of them extra crispy and spicy.

A slight amendment to previous email:
Although Target is not OFFICIALLY selling the
album, apparently, according to our sources..they are MISTAKENLY
selling it at some stores.. as in , the memo to have it pulled from
shelves was not sent to all targets -...if you find yourself at your
local target... go check the music section.. it just might be
there..Let us know ( just for fun) if it is..( oh ..and Buy it too,
if just to fuck with them)-

As you can imagine, this week has been full of excitement, stress and lots of really
cool emails and words from all you guys.. THANK YOU for your

Please keep in mind that the original idea mentioned about

..Member that? Well it is much more possible to make that impact if
the first week sales/radio plays ( request folks, REQUEST.please) of
the album are notable.. ( i.e. the Almighty labels notice someone
other than THEM selling a record??)

So .. in a last ditch plee to pocketbook and purpose.. If you're
already planning on buying the record as an xmas gift for grandma
etc.. Why not do it now? send it for thanksgiving ..or belated
halloween?

Trent Reznor and Saul Williams

NiggyTardust! (LOL!!)

As many of you know, I've been working closely with Saul Williams on his new record. We've spent many hours together in hotel rooms, busses, backstages and studios around the world working on something we knew was great. This is the most involved I've been with any project outside NIN since Antichrist Superstar, and I've been impatiently waiting for the chance for you to hear it. Well... guess what?
The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust! has arrived! After my own recent dealings with record labels we decided to release it directly to you. Head over to http://www.niggytardust.com for all the details. Register now and you can download the record November 1st. Working on this project was a real pleasure. Saul was interested in breaking boundaries / crossing genres / defying expectations and we learned a great deal from one another in the process. When asked about the sound of the record, I've had to resort to "... I really don't know HOW to describe it." That's a good thing more than ever these days.
A word on the way we've chosen to release this. There are obvious similarities in how Radiohead just released their new record and the way we've chosen to. After thinking about this way too much, I feel we've improved upon their idea in a few profound ways that benefit you, the consumer. You obviously will be the judge of this in the end. One thing that IS very different in our situation is that Saul's not the household name (yet!) that Radiohead is, and that means we need your support on this more than ever. If you like what you hear, spread the word.

"I won't let you fall apart"

I always wanted to scream at you......No! You've got it wrong! Sometimes we need to fall apart. What you should be saying is, "I'll be here and hold you when you fall apart". That's what's needed. Not to keep someone from falling apart, but to be there for them, to care enough to hold them while they fall apart. Let them know they're not alone. That you're there to stand by them and help them pick up the pieces.

But unfortunately, there can be outside influences that keep a person from even seeing that you're falling apart. Sometimes drugs and drinking keeps people in a fog. A self-medicated numbness that keeps them from seeing what's happening around them, to the people that care the most about them. Staying in that comfort zone of not having to feel anything they don't see the one that loves them falling apart. And if they do, they self medicate even more so they don't have to deal with it. And they blame the other person. Because dealing with it means having feelings and having to take responsibility for their actions, and it's too hard to do that. Being numb is so much easier.

Why would anyone want to be so numb? To not feel? I don't understand, but then, I'm not an addict. Maybe that numbness feels so much better than anything else. I don't know and I don't want to try. I want to feel. Good or bad, pain or love, hurt or joy.....any of these, in my mind is better than just being numb. No one likes pain. Not the kind of the soul. But I'd rather FEEL SOMETHING other than a drug induced, temporary, not real, euphoria. But that's just me.

I don't know how to fight it anymore. But I know now that Love is not Enough. I once believed that. Love conquers all, right?

Tough love doesn't work either. I've tried that too. I think I've tried everything.

Now, I just need to fall apart. And once again, try and pick up the pieces. And hope they're all there.

I hate that expression.

No. NO. Life doesn't work that way. You do not become stronger through torture. You only survive torture by being strong to begin with. And even then you are affected by it. You are not stronger as a result.

But you can find an ally. You can discover someone who, through their music, their poetry, their LIFE, says "You're not alone." You can hear THAT, as I did, and be forever better for it.

RIP, Dear Rudy.

We'll miss you.

We had a wonderful memorial for you last night. All your friends gathered at your beloved place on the river.

We shared funny and heart warming stories about you. We made margaritas and toasted your life. Your life that touched so many of us. We played Zeppelin all night. Snoop tried to make your famous jerk chicken, or at least he tried. No one could jerk chicken like you! We spread your ashes along the river.

Beano made a small "barge" and hauled it out onto the middle of the river where he put on the most amazing fireworks display in your honor.

You left us too soon, Rudy. But you'll be with us forever. We love you.
