2007 Retrospective and Thank-yous

2007 has been and gone, thank fuck for that!

Our last gig of the year on Christmas Eve marked exactly 18 months as an active band. Our first ever gig was at The Soundhaus on 24th June 2006, and our first gig with the new line-up was on the same stage on the 24th December 2007. It should have been our CD launch night but... yeah, anyway.

It's been a rather shit year in many ways, but we've made it through all of that and we're still going, more determined than ever. Hopefully we've got all the frustrating hard moments that bands go through out of the way for a while, it's time to start enjoying all this again!

We're very glad to see the back of last year, after starting off losing lots of money to some clown, resulting in a fair bit of stress and countless delays to our EP release - finally ready one year later, but still out before Chinese Democracy (cheers Nodge...). This pretty much put a spanner in the works which disrupted all our plans and threw everything else into uncertainty.

We also went through 4 line-up changes - Glen joining Gutworm, Simon now in digigrind upstarts Metropolis Of Dystopia, Lee composing Jazz Porn soundtracks, and Liam Thracia helping us out on bass before we finally found full-time new members with John and JD from Out For Blood! The whole set was also completely re-written twice over in the process of recovering from these changes, so we spent most of the year treading water... which was pretty frustrating!

So anyway, thanks to everyone that's stuck by us this year, given us gigs even though we might have played them as a two-piece, the people who came to watch us play even though we were playing a new set we'd only written that week, those that came to lots of our gigs even though they hate our "bad noise" (hi Emma).

Massive thanks to Liam Thracia for standing in on bass for those few gigs after Summer, which helped a lot in keeping the band going through what was probably the ultimate low-point in things going tits up!

Cheers to Scott at Ram Print for being really helpful with getting us stickers and things printed, and being completely patient with all our months of delays in actually submitting artwork! Bands - get him to print your stuff!

Delayed thanks to Matt Geaney of Stonebreaker for helping us record at the end of 2006, and putting up with us in his garage for ad hoc days over several months. We still have your microphone!

Further cheers to Kim, Pete and Spike at Big Noise for making early Sunday mornings a pleasure, and letting us off on paying for cans of coke every now and then.

Some premium lagers to Kim & The Metal Underground lot for their support and including us in their final five UK Unsigned Metal Bands of 2007, which was a nice way to end the year!

And finally some shouts and grattitude in no particular order to; Allan Mad Cow Paté, Out For Blood, Thracia, Matt Geaney (cheers for the mics!), Pete & Lynette, Maz Star @ Total Rock, Joey and the Blast-O-Ramas, The Gutter Club (RIP), Juggernaut Punch (RIP?), Hard Target, Shaping The End, The Magpyes, Steve In Tha Ground, Godsize, Glen and The Gutworms, The Download crew & The Hour Of Power, Kingsize Blues, Extreme Noise Terror, Anticulture, Stonebreaker, Seethe, Legion Of Fury (RIP), Bill Snide, Driven By Devils, Sycorax, Isaiah, Tricycle Fucking Death, and of course Colonel Sanders, The Man With No Love, and Undercut Bloke. Sorry if we forgot anyone, blame drugs and booze...

Here's to 2008!

TAE on a compilation with Waking The Cadaver! + some big changes...

TAE ON COMPILATION WITH SOME COOL BANDS

We've got a track on In Tha Ground Records' Straight Outta Tha Ground Vol 1 compilation CD, available from their myspace now.

Also on the compilation are Waking The Cadaver (USA), Abacinate (USA), Cadaver Mutilator (Italy), The Magpyes, My Cross To Bare, Among The Missing, Shaping The End, The Silent Takeover and more, 18 tracks of grind, smash and 'core for your 5 pounds.

LINE-UP CHANGES!

GLEN "GLEN" PYWELL
2006-2007

We're sad to announce that our next local gig will be Glen's last with us. TAE wish him all the best as he takes his first big steps into the world of heavy metal stardom with Gutworm. He's recently finished recording for their new album Disfigured Narcissus, which is available in all good record shops across the world courtesy of Anticulture Records. (£5 for the plug please Glen).

LEE KIDMAN
2005-2007

Last weekend we also parted ways with guitarist Lee, all friendly like, he just wants to go on to other things now.

We're continuing as a 2 piece until we find the right people to join us, we're currently quickly writing a load of new songs we can easily cover with just one guitar. This basically means we're playing lots of FAST proper grind a long the lines of Pig Destroyer and Brutal Truth!

We'll hopefully soon be playing gigs with Liam (ex-Gutworm/Freebase) on bass whenever he's available.

NEW SONGS / THE FUTURE...

We're taking some time out writing a load of new stuff which is quite exciting, featuring more tech widdle, more FAST, and more DOOM. We've got at least six new songs that are well on the way... probably more!

We'll be re-recording the vocals for our old EP and getting that released ASAP. This time avoiding scheming dickhead thieves at all costs.

We'll also actually be getting merch done!

Then we should be recording a full album or more EPs with Tom from The Magpyes (AKA Vagrant Recordings), he's also recording Narcosis' next CD so hopefully we'll steal some of their FAST and be extra good.

After that... ooh, Hellfest?

james
pp.TAE

NEW SONGS ON PROFILE!

Since our EP release got messed around for months by some idiot, and then we parted ways with our old singer... we've re-recorded the old songs (from our unreleased EP) with the all-new lyrics and vocals.

Two songs are up on our profile now, check 'em out!
CD update & line-up changes

After months of being messed about we've decided to can our EP release.

4 months delay just waiting for 200 CDs to be copied is ridiculous. We've missed out on a lot of opportunities because of this, and following a line-up change we're just scrapping all the old songs as they are.

Last month we amicably parted ways with Simon (singer). The vocals are now being handled by James and Danny, and all the vocal parts are being re-written in time for our next gig.

Expect some rough demos to appear soon!

Ok, we were meant to be launching our EP on our 1 year anniversary on the 26th of last month, but we seem to have faced delay after delay in actually getting this out there.

We're currently having "issues" with the manufacturers, hopefully these will be sorted out very soon because we're wanting to get this CD out there NOW!

... and yes we are still looking for a full-time bass player!

New Full-time bassist required

We're looking for a new full-time bassist, as Glen's commitments with Gutworm are unfortunately taking up too much of his time.

We're after someone who;

Is experienced and committed to being in a hard working band.

A good bassist! Our stuff can get quite technical at times, knowing scales/notes, and legato/tapping will be a big help.

Lives in Northampton or surrounding areas.

Has own gigable equipment.

Ideally has own transport.

Will be willing to contribute towards general band costs and play gigs all over the place.

Isn't easily offended... we're a bunch of cunts really.

If you're think you're up to it then please get in touch, we'd love to hear from you!
