This is Ticking Bombs

The story of Ticking Bombs started in the beginning of the year 2000. Lots of stuff was happening on our street and one day we felt the urge to start writing songs about our lives. It all began in Dr. Raymond’s garage where we slowly started to learn how to play our instruments and decided what kind of music we wanted to create. Street Punk Rock ‘n’ Roll was our way of surviving!
Late summer 2001 we found that things were going a too slow and we were pretty much sick of the way things were going. But fortunately we weren’t sick of each other. In September we got contacted by a dear friend who was setting up a show in our closest town Norberg. Some big international punk bands were playing and we couldn’t have had a better ‘new-start’ of the band. Before this gig we had made a whole new set of songs and we used the band name ‘Ticking Bombs’ for the first time in history.
After that gig things started to work for us and soon we had recorded our first demo tape – which got great reviews and opened many new doors for us. During 2002 and until today’s date we have toured many parts of Sweden, Finland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Czech Republic.
On September 22nd – 2003, and around 30 gigs later we released our first official CD - Financed all by ourselves and we headed out for a Switzerland tour to promote the new record ‘The Way It Is Today’. We recorded it at the same studio as we used when recording the demo, ‘Studio Cave’, although this time with much more time, money and skills. It’s produced all by ourselves together with producer & studio owner Crusty Caveman. The record contains eight songs and we have been receiving great response from many people around the world and “The Way it is Today tour” in Europe, autumn 2004, was a real blast.
2004 was a tough year for us. Psychaedelic Matt decided to leave the band because of some personal matters, and we had to hit the road for our second European tour with a stand-in guitarist. The tour went well and when we got home we started to make plans for our third album. In the beginning of 2005 we finally found a new guitarist which had the skills and the right attitude to be one of the five pieces in Ticking Bombs.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we found the long gone local thug called “Crazy Ivan”.
He’s more punkrock than anyone else, grown up listening to bands like Black Flag, Minor Threat, Cheap Trick & Black Sabbath he inspired the rest of us and we got together perfectly. We started to write songs as we never had done before and within five months we got 18 new songs to record in the studio. We used the well known “Studio Cave” with our old reliable co-producer Crusty Caveman. The Result? 18 complete songs which 12 of them is available on our last album “Hall of Shame”. With songs as “Daddy’s Little Devil”, “Line ‘em Up” & “Colt 45” you got a little hint of what it’s all about. Punkrock with an attitude!
”Hall of Shame” were released the 10th of December 2005, once again by ourselves. But this time we made a better distribution in Europe through our own contacts. We went on tour again in 2006 to promote our last album and it was a success. The ”Hall of Shame” record is almost sold out and a second press is on the schedule.
Last year, 2007, we have spent more time in the rehearsal than on the road. We made a short European tour in June. That was an awesome break and gave us alot more inspiration. We’ve written alot of new songs and 11 of them has been recorded in Studio Cave, Fagersta (SWE) in the beginning of December. Six of those 11 songs are available on a new promo cd that’s gonna be released in January 2008 just before we’re going to do our first tour in Japan. We’re all looking forward for an exciting year and hopefully the best year for Ticking Bombs so far…
