Trashlight Vision - Alibis and Ammunition - added - July 4th, 2007

5/5
In their press release, New York City's Trashlight Vision state that "punk rock will never die" and true to that statement they are doing everything in their power to keep punk rock very much alive. Don't even think for a minute that this band is like one of those faux punk bands that you'll hear on the radio. Despite singer and guitarist Acey Slade's association with Murderdolls, that doesn't mean that this band is as poppy or bubblegummy as the 'Dolls. I see it as night and day, or since we are talking punk here, the difference between being tripped or a curb stomp. Alibis and Ammunition oozes with attitude, sleaze, and unadultered rock n' roll in the tradition of Too Fast for Love era Motley Crue meets The Sex Pistols. Now you might have heard those two comparisons used before but the truth is those two bands' names, reputations, and attitudes have been used so loosely that people think "right" when a critic uses them to push a new band on you. I understand that. This is as close of a comparison as I have heard . . . ever. If tracks like "Screw Worm Baby," "Horns and Halos," and "Black Apples" won't get you off your ass and lace up the Doc Martens (or go shopping for a replacement pair), then you are truly hopeless.
