UK77 formed jan 2006, Northampton UK based 3 piece punk band, influenced by the likes of The UK Subs, Rancid, The Clash.
UK77 blend of Ska, Reggae and Blue's with the great sound of Raw Punk Rock. Collectively We have played with bands such as, The UK Subs, GBH, Time Again, The Vibrators, Menace, The Business, 4ft Fingers, Strawberry Blondes and many more.
We recorded a 4 track home demo early 06 and released it at gigs as a mini EP. The tracks included, 20 Minutes Dead, Wonderland, and the original versions of Freeloader & Life On Hold, both to be later re-recorded and released. We played our 1st show at the Telegraph in Brixton, London.
Throughout 2006 we made our way up and down the UK playing other venues and pubs in Manchester, Andover, Camden, Brixton, Birmingham, Corby, Leicester, Northgampton (home), Ipswich, Coventry, and alot more. We have played in the region of 65 gigs so far and are just in the process of playing a short stint tour of the UK.
July 2007 UK77 found, borrowed, and scraped enough money together to record and release our 1st proper cd, entitled ...Like Rats On Parole. Including the 10 tracks Nailbomb, 911, Freeloader, Life On Hold, Sushi Girl, Bombs & Hatred, Back To Momma, In The City, Caribbean Sand & On The Road. The album tracks tell stories of city life, friendship on the streets,loyalty, scandals, and climbing your way back up after being thrown down. ...Like Rats On Parole has been put out independantly by the band and released through Sewer Rat Records(c), The album has been likened to Rancids 95' release And Out Come The Wolves, bringing a simple punk sound with Ska influences and getting it laid down clean and clear enough to hear everything whilst still keeping the original raw punk sound.
August 2007, Hellcat records punx Time Again embarked on a European tour, We were offered to suppot them during the UK dates, which we accepted. This was a big deal for UK77 as Time Again have been a huge influence on the attititude side of things for us as a band. Keeping it honest is something we do best, and we always push that in our live performances.
Sept 2007 onwards-- After releasing our cd ourselves UK77 have done well so far with sales, reaching out people all across the UK and even New fans in the U.S who are also picking up copies of ...Like Rats On Parole. (Thank you guys) The cd is available through the link on our web page, UK store & U.S store. We are looking to book up more and more gigs up and in to 2008, and are hoping to get the next cd recorded for December time, ready for early 2008.
