This is Under the Blade
Under the Blade started as a garage band in May of 2007 and has been quickly picking up steam ever since. UTB is so named in an attempt to epitomize their heavy, complex riffage and aggressive sound. The band came into existence in Seattle as "Everything is Plundered", where Joe and Grant formed a metal songwriting duo and recorded tracks on their home PC. After moving to Boise out of the stereotypically saturated metal market of Seattle, Joe and Grant stumbled upon an ex-bassist from the local Boise band "Fairly Decent" who had a strong desire to break from his bassist background and bang on shit with sticks. Now a vocalist, guitarist, and a drummer, the three needed to find the other pieces of the puzzle. Enter Nick and Jesse - good friends of Derek without any formal live music experience, but with many years of drunken jam sessions. Upon (then unnamed) UTB's first meeting in Derek's suburban garage, the five hammered out the specifics on their first song, Multiple Car Pileup, and were able to play a rudimentary take within hours. The rest, as they say, is history.
