With your lips against mine,
Underneath the strange, strange sky.
We sit at table,
Your legs folded under you.
We're hidden away,
Among the faux plants.
We kiss when the boys aren't looking.
It's getting too hot to lay in bed together.
But even in this heat,
I need your warmth.
The windows wide open,
The curtains billowing in the slight breeze.
We complain to landlady,
That the AC ain't working.
Taking cold showers,
Laying in the tub together,
The water barely covering our bodies.
Work likes to break up our lazy weekends.
You work for the Corporate man.
I work for the bookstore on the corner of 5th and 7th.
We haven't fought in weeks.
There's not much to fight about.
As long as you stop playing Fountains of Wayne.
It's tea now,
Not coffee that I taste when we kiss.
The mint that echoes on your lips.
Bah romance
