Taste of Chaos last night -


After a sixer of Newcastle Brown Ale in the parking lot, we waltzed in to see MUCC on stage.  They were a no talent crap Japanese band who sounded like early Flaw...not something to write home about.

Then another Japanese band came on (either The Underneath or D'espaisray.  I dont know who they were because I couldnt hear a word they said, but the band was decent.

Anyway...the bands that mattered -

Bullet For My Valentine was exactly what I expected.  They played mostly newer tracks from Scream/Aim/Fire, which wast necessarily a bad thing, but the crowd definitely responded more to songs like Hand of Blood - which was fantasmic performance btw - and they left me satisfied, but not in awe.

Blessthefall was the sidestage interlude, and they worked.  They are worth checking out in the future, but for now I have enough music to catch up on.

Atreyu owned the stage.  I thought the concert would peak here, because they were flawless.  They mixed in songs from the Curse through Lead Sails, and then, as so many times before, ended the show with an amazing/intense/fascinating rendidtion of Lip Gloss and Black that left everyone exploding.  Definitely had the best pits too.

There was no interlude between Atreyu and A7x, jsut dead space.  Poeple mulling around for 25 minutes...then a little video came on, making everyone believe they were coming on stage...but it was an intro for a 15 minute countdown....more dead space...more dead space...people getting frustrated...then, they exploded on stage with Critical Acclaim (check my profile, fantasticalistic song)  Lots of fire and explosions throughout a set complete with a lot of the new album, a lot of City of Evil, and Second HEartbeat ..and to my suprise, Shadows screamed his way through Second Heartbeat...almost.  His voice has definitely regained the stregth, and he commands the audience with his presence.  Synyster Gates stole the show though, as expected.

They did A Little Peice of Heaven as an encore...which is hysterical. 





In other news...I got a replacement work computer, and Im getting my new computer sometime next week.

Anyone know how to pull stuff off the hard drive of a dead PC?  The hard drive isnt dead, Im just not getting any power to the CPU somehow.


In closing - Across the Universe is an amazing motion picture.
