This is Wisdom Drop
Wisdom Drop was formed on a cold December night. Far off in the country, in a small barn rightfully dubbed "The Shack", Koradon Eby and Drew Bilger sat down with a keyboard and played together for the first time. "We were just having fun", Koradon later exclaims. "Neither of us were out to start a band at that point. We were bored and just happened to have a keyboard on hand at the time. Then we recorded Psycho Symphony No. 9." Armed only with a camcorder microphone, a keyboard and an apparent knack for improvising, they began to record. "The first two songs were OK", says Drew when later interviewed "Then something happened, everything changed." Psycho Symphony No. 9 was the third song they recorded. "We used a string synth, Drew played the low notes while I played the high notes", says Koradon. "It was like magic, we recorded a full hour of music that night." After that, they decided to form a band. Koradon started playing guitar, and their good friend Zac started playing Harmonica. Over the course of the next year, they would record and master a full albums worth of material. "We would record our jam sessions", Koradon remarks. "Everything is improvised, right down to the lyrics. Then I would record the video from my camcorder onto my computer, rip the audio from the video, manually separate the tracks, and convert them to WAV files. Then I could send them into an audio editor and add the Chorus, Echo, Phaser, etc. And we would have a finished song. It's a little tedious, but the results are decent at the least." With a nearly finished first album, and an experimental feel which hasn't been seen for decades, Wisdom Drop is sure to excite your eardrums in ways you've never dreamed. Enjoy!
