Speak supporters once again gathered at the exclusion zone on South Parks Rd to maintain their protest against the torture of Felix and all the other hidden victims of Oxford University.

This protest like all others was perfectly legal and, as is usual, was observed by officers from Thames Valley Police and the so-called 'professional witnesses' in the employ of Oxford University. Campaigners were standing by the roadside with their placards and banners, lawfully exercising their rights to demonstrate when one of the protesters was approached by police officers. The campaigner was accused of taking a picture of a 'protected person', namely a professional witness and to be in breach of the High Court injunction. The officers told the campaigner from SPEAK that the 'professional witnesses' employed by the university had seen him take a picture of them with his camera. The SPEAK representative made it very clear to the Police Officers that at no time had any pictures of protected persons been taken (as if you would stand and blatantly take a picture when you are surrounded by cameras anyway) but the Officers insisted that if the camera was not handed over the SPEAK campaigner would be arrested.

Firmly but politely the SPEAK supporter refused to hand over the camera, the police then affected an arrest and the protester was taken to St Aldates police station where he was searched and his camera taken away for inspection. Three hours later the SPEAK campaigner was let out of his cell, his property returned to him, including his camera which low and behold contained NO pictures of 'professional witnesses' or any other protected persons for that matter.

In an attempt to subvert the rule of the law employees of Oxford University have once again demonstrated their willingness to lie in an attempt to crush 'Free Speech'. It does not take a great leap of imagination to ponder how far the same university would go to cover up the suffering and death of sentient beings like Felix. We have said it before and we will say it again: We are not going to go away until we have achieved what we set out to do, and that is to end the scientific blind spot that is vivisection and teach Oxford University a proper lesson in ethics and proper scientific practices.
