Adam Balogh - Vox/Guitars
Ben-Jammin - Drums
Steve Burchell - Guitars
Jeremy Mendelzon - Bass
The English have heart, Germans have angst, and Texans have the firepower - throw them together and you might get WWIII, or a highly explosive rock band. ZänKoma has the explosives laid and world domination in their eyes. And they’ll do it on their own terms. They’ve built an international force of musicians from three countries and two continents.
German raised front man, Adam Balogh, delivers cutting edge vocal melody and guitar hooks that any Hellacopters, Black Sabbath, or AC/DC fan can pump a fist to. A musician since age 5, Balogh developed his musical talent singing in choirs and playing classical trumpet music throughout his childhood. He brought his abilities to numerous bands in Europe until reaching age 20, when he decided to leave because “I needed to be where things were happening and I was pretty much bored”. So he packed his bags and headed for the bright lights and dark nights of Los Angeles.
It was in L.A. that Balogh later crossed paths with Ben-Jammin, a rock n roller that plays drums like a Texas cliché… loud and big. Growing up with a steady diet of Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC, blues tunes, Jack Daniels, big trucks and guns, the two immediately clicked, created, and searched for others like minded.
An English lad named Steve Burchell had also made the leap across the pond in search of a rock Mecca in L.A. After only days in the U.S., he found ZänKoma. Burchell’s guitar playing is fast, hard and tip top. In an age that lacks guitar heroes, Burchell is proof positive that a Les Paul through a Marshall with some style is a classic recipe for a huge sound.
ZänKoma headed to the studio late last year and the result was a pedal to the floor, fuel injected dose of rock… real rock. It’s no wonder why the legendary Bill Dooley (Paramount), was quick to jump on board as the mastering engineer for these three songs. This band already has thousands of miles under their belts, and that was to just start the band. This is only the beginning.........
