Connie Tran Joins Trig Innovation
Tran is a 2012 graduate of the industrial design program at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, graduating with honors (magna cum laude). During her years at Virginia Tech, Tran earned multiple awards and recognition for her work in graphic design, character design, and illustration, as well as industrial design work to benefit the lives of the elderly.
Tran has built an impressive portfolio of professional work, starting with a two-year run as an industrial designer focused on packaging work at MeadWestVaco. Her work at MWV included translating consumer insights into packaging innovations for some of the world’s most admired brands, while she also served as a designer for the firm’s Beauty & Personal Care as well as the Home & Garden strategic business units.
After leaving MeadWestVaco, Tran joined Evergreen Industries as a product development designer, working with the company’s brand managers to create trend-leading designs for in-house home and garden décor brands.
In her new role at Trig Innovation, Tran is working with lead designer Patrick Murphy, designer Drew Brisley, and principal Ty Hagler on a variety of industrial design projects across sectors ranging from medical devices to products for the home. Tran is also collaborating with brand strategist Brian Castle on marketing projects for other manufacturing and service firms, showcasing her graphic design skills.
“I’m just thrilled to have Connie on board,” said Hagler. “She’s a true rock star already. You know you have something special when you see somebody like Connie come in, do great work, and push the rest of us as individuals and as a team to deliver even better work in the service of our clients. She already embodies a pair of our favorite values around here—inspiration and collaboration.”
