Connie Tran promoted to Senior Industrial Designer

Tran, a graduate in industrial design from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute, started at Trig in early 2015 as a staff industrial designer.

Tran’s work has run the spectrum of client projects at Trig, showing her versatility across both traditional industrial design disciplines and non-traditional work, including the development of digital user experiences for the internet and applications.  She has pushed the company in new UX directions by leading the development of tools such as interactive forms and ROI calculators used for client company marketing purposes.

Connie Tran’s elite capabilities are perhaps best exemplified, however, in multiple client engagements centered on brand development. Just this month, her work received wider acclaim when Trig’s project with ALTR ERGO, the Sanctuary Saddle, received an International Design Excellence Award from the Industrial Designer’s Society of America.  For ALTR Ergo, Tran led the development from concept to launch of the company’s core brand identity and related assets, including logos, brand marks, and color palettes reflecting the leading edge in brand design in the fashion forward cycling industry.

“Connie is the ultimate collaborator,” said fellow Senior Industrial Designer Patrick Murphy, who served as lead industrial designer on the award-winning Sanctuary Saddle project for ALTR ERGO.  “Her work is so good, that it’s enabled the firm to reach new industries and really think there are no limits to what we can achieve.”

Ty Hagler, founder and principal at Trig, believes that the firm has only seen the foundation of Connie’s brilliance.

“Connie is a very special talent. We are fortunate to have a great team—every last individual here contributes in a big way to our success. But Connie has really embraced one of the best aspects of our work ethic at Trig, the need to be versatile and apply her brilliance in taking on new skill areas. I’ve seen big leaps in her capabilities, from her concept sketching to more advanced graphic design and animation. Her abilities in these areas have really enabled the marketing part of our company to match up to our design—in effect, she’s a bridge for almost everything we do.”

The team at Trig would like to congratulate Connie Tran on her promotion, and we look forward to watching her wizardry for many years to come.
