What if you could make unprotected skin visible?

There are 1 Million cases of skin cancer per year in the US alone, but sunscreen can significantly reduce your chances of getting cancer. Unfortunately, most people only apply 25% to 50% of the sunscreen they should.  The team at Trig has been working with our client, Voxelight, to launch their first product, Sunscreenr, which solves this problem.

Sunscreenr is a small handheld camera that can detect whether UV light is being absorbed by sunscreen, or is reflected off of unprotected skin. Using advanced digital light filters, protected skin looks dark, while unprotected skin shows up light.  The design of Sunscreenr requires that it be durable, waterproof, affordable, and easy to use.  Senior Industrial Designer, Patrick Murphy, has been leading the effort from sketch to design-for-manufacture of the enclosure to complete the design in time for the summer season.
